IRS Tax Transcript

I called the IRS and requested a tax transcript and they actually faxed it to me within 15-30 minutes of my request. Is this really all there is to it, or is the NVC/interviewee looking for something different?! When do you provide this?! In my I-864 application, I provided a copy of my 2008 tax return with w-2s.

Please let me know if you've already requested the tax transcript and gone to the interview.

if you submit transcripts then you're all set. only submit w-2s if you're submitting the 1040

If your submitting tax transcripts you should still submit copies of your W-2s as support.

I originally submitted a photocopy of my 2007 1040EZ with W-2 and got an RFE so I requested transcripts from the IRS for the last 3 years and was approved by NVC.

you will get flagged if you DON'T send all that stuff? I read many places transcripts superceed need for anyhtng else because it comes from IRS

so you are saying send all that stuff too?

I got both but I prefer the correct simple ways why volunteer stuff you dont need in this case

i meant either send the transcripts alone or the 1040 + W2s. dont send both transcripts and 1040 + W2s together. keep it plain and simple. sending more than requested will only cause confusion at NVC and draw possible RFE
