Ewwww EQ? I'd rather go play atari :P

I too have been away from WoW. I still log on a few times a week, but I just can't seem to stay logged on for more than an hour. I like that they have made raids more difficult, but I hate the fact that they made it so time intensive to raid. Mostly, I really hated it when my guild asked me to heal on my priest. I hate the new healing system and have no intention of doing it. To make matters worse, shadow priest is like the new gimp class. I'm not going to sit around and wait for them to fix it. Cataclysm is a step backwards, in time and in game progression. I have been playing TF2 a lot recently, and mostly been going out, you know, the ultimate realm... IRL

I met my sweetie on Misha realm. However since we've discovered Skype and play pogo together we don't play nearly as often either.

People ask how we met and I generally just say "oh its a long story" lol. For as many couples that meet online these days, in various ways, there is still a stigma attached to gamers. He was Priest, I was Rogue. He transferred from Horde to Alliance and joined our guild and his first raid with us he said something smarta** in vent and ended up PM-ing me and apologizing and that is where it started. We both quit playing about 6 months or so ago and have no intention on returning. We have had the pleasure of Beta testing SWTOR and though we have way too much going on right now to invest as much time in it upon release as we might would like, we're still excited for it.

I find people are alwasy more amazed that a relationship could develop out of 'playing a game' - if you don't play, you just don't get the social aspect :) I met my husband almost 6 yrs ago and we'll be married for 4 on Nov 24 (time flies).

Coincidentally we just came back from Blizzcon and LOVED it. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was just really happy to be there as at most conventions I've heard.

There were a lot of lines but it was just interesting standing in line even, always someone to talk to. We had access to a guild hall for AIE from Earthenring so we had a landing spot when we were tired of walking around.

It was nice to be amongst folks who didn't give you one strange look, and everyone knew what you were talking about! Highlights for us:

- Opening ceremony - watched the feed at the AIE guild hall amongst friends - much better then getting up at 3 am to stand in line.

- met PodcasterScott Johnson (Also in AIE) and his wife, chatted them up - interesting guy

- played a sample of the new Mists of Pandaria

- Lore panel hosted by Chris Metzen and the various authors of WoW books

- live raid - very cool, kind of like a sporting event with the commentating

- hubster met Curt Schilling who was standing in the Blizz store line with us - we only figured that out after an hour

- ate at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. 3 x :) Yep - it was really good

We'd go again in a heart beat - it was never as crowded as people said despite the 30000 in attendance, you just have to be patient.

PS - no line-ups at the women's bathrooms ever - yay!!!!

I gave up on WoW a year ago and after seeing the trailer for panda monks in the next expansion, I'm going to remain away from that game or any other mmo.

However, I'd still go to Blizzcon (though I'm not a gamer) just to see Felicia Day :)

Ah yes - Felicia. Saw her at breakfast several days - doesn't do a thing for me ;P Seems really approachable though, she was really nice to fans who came up at breakfast or stopped her in the lobby for a picture.

Blizzcon is the palce to pick up red haired gamer girls for sure (if I was a guy and cared)

hmm I didnt even know this forum post existed! ha ha. Well this is how hubby and I met too. Right before WotLK came out, a group of us who could not make raid times in our current guild split off and formed a new one. We had started pugging this rogue in, and he brought along a druid healer. The healer being my (now) husband. He and I started talking when he would pst me before raids to get an early invite so he could go have a smoke before raid... it just kind of went from there.

He ended up quitting wow this past year because it was his senior year in University and he needed to focus on that. I still play.. but mostly because Since I cant seem to find a job, and all his co-workers are single, so no gf's or wives for me to get to know.. I have no one to hang out with :(

I used to play a boomkin as my main, but am now playing a mage. We are/were both alliance on the Ravencrest server.

Our Visa Journey:

06/18/2010 - Submitted I-130 pkg and cheque - Denied, missing information
07/07/2010 - Re-submitted pkg - Denied, same information incorrect or missing - pulling our hair out!
08/30/2010 - Re-submitted pkg AGAIN! this time tried a new answer on two questions.
09/03/2010 - received pkg
09/08/2010 - NOA-1 sent
09/13/2010 - Touched
12/13/2010 - NOA-2 Issued.
12/19/2010 - NOA-2 Hard Copy Received!
01/04/2011 - Received AOS Bill
02/01/2011 - Paid AOS Bill
02/23/2011 - Received IV Bill
03/29/2011 - Paid IV Bill
03/30/2011 - Mailed IV Packet
04/01/2011 - Mailed AoS Packet
04/21/2011 - RFE
04/29/2011 - Evidence Mailed in
05/06/2011 - Case Complete!
05/13/2011 - Received Email with Interview Date!
06/27/2011 - Interview! - APPROVED!!!
07/08/2011 - Visa in hand.
07/12/2011 - POE Niagara Falls, NY Rainbow Bridge. Less than 30 minutes!

Our RoC Journey:

06/21/2013 - Mailed in RoC package

06/24/2013 - Package arrived at VSC

06/25/2013 - NOA was sent out

07/31/2013 - Biometrics Appointment

08/19/2013 - Notice of Transfer to CSC

08/26/2013 - Touched. (probably when it was received by CSC I would assume)

I know he doesn't do anything with Wow anymore, but seeing as how we were discussing his horrible journey, i thought i'd mention that TOTALBISCUIT finally has his embassy interview soon and should be moving to the U.S. in April. Finally he will be reunited with his family after a 4 year journey.

You can listen to him talk about it on his latest Vlog here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/cynicalbrit/posts/332904536746944.

Ahh yes - the love affair with a new game! Rift didn't keep my attention but a month last year, but SWTOR (Star Wars the Old Republic for those not in the know)has a firm hold, as does another (non-online) game called Reckoning: Kingdom of Amalur.

I still have my WoW account and play occasionally but my time is more divided between all the games I'm into.

My sis met my fiance on WOW and introduced us (and bought me WOW that christmas as she hates me) before Burning Crusade came out. My fiance and I played for awhile but quit together a total of 3 times since we known each other - mostly about idiot guild leaders not being fair with loot/raid participants and idiot other players slowing raid progression.

We were on Kilrogg (horde), Rexxar (horde) and Velen (alliance). He was always a Warrior tank, and I was a paladin tank/retribution. Then as alliance I went priest and druid.

The last time we quit and played Rifts, but got bored fast. We don't play any videogames together anymore since I work too many hours.

My Fiance is HOPING DESPERATELY Diablo 3 will be out soon as he wants a bachelor LAN party with it.
