So now that I got my Pally all set for retribution and tanking...i'm bored. Our guild is flatlined and pugs s^ck (not always, but i'm sick of dealing with it).

SO, I made a priest, I made a druid, heck I made one of everything. It's so much fun seeing the difference each class experiences even just in the beginning.

I'm in a druid vs. priest dilemma now. I really want to lvl up a healer, but I"m so torn on which one. I don't really care to dual spec (but who knows, at 80 I may change my mind), so neither class' dps abilities matters much to me. I want an awesome healer. What about a Shaman? Which one is the easiest and best healer?

And by easiest I mean once i'm 80 which one will be the easiest to heal well with?

Omg I didn't mean to quote myself!! What a dork!!

My Husband said he would roll a Druid - why? Because there is more flexibility - you have the tank/dps/healer options. He said this is also the easiest one gear wise.

For raid healing (he is a Shaman healer) - it brings a lot to the raid with totems.

If you want to have fun, I say roll a priest! I know 1 person as well who has levelled as a holy priest, however, she doesn't play very much and she only plays with her Husband (ie: she always has someone to kill stuff!) - suffice to say she is still level 70 something.

I have tried to quest as a holy priest - I find it horribly boring, killing anything takes 4 times as long, you have like 3 lame spells for dps :lol: So I would recommend a dual spec or at the very least levelling Shadow - but who knows - you might find levelling the healer fun!

  • Has anyone heard of "QuestUp"? I am wondering if it's "legal" to use in the game. I really want to level up my shaman quickly and it sounds like a really nice addon for doing so.
  • A guildie (an adult that I trust wouldn't make this up) received an ingame mail message from an alleged GM asking him to beta test a new mount. He said the way he understood the message, it's a mount for hunters (which he is) and you can attack while riding it. Have any of you or anyone you know received a message like this before? It didn't ask for any personal info, otherwise I'd think scam immediately. But he also didn't receive the mount. We're not sure what to make of it.
:star:

My Husband was reading this article about the test mount - wow.com actually interviewed the scammer:

http://www.wow.com/2009/06/06/an-interview-with-a-scammer/

One of our guild members had their account hacked last week (not related to this scam) - they took everything of course. He opened a ticket - they got back to him to say that they would restore his items - they said it would take about a week - as of last night, a week later, he is still waiting.

It was kind of sad, he logged in and found this out - I made up some pants and stuff (they left his chest piece and like 2 other items - emblem items with no vendor value) and found him sitting on a bench in Dal - sans pants etc - it was comical and sad at the same time :lol:

one of my old guilds had a rash of hacks..like 5 ppl in the same week. took 2 weeks for some and more for others. a shame really..

i wish they would increase instance limits...my lowbies (lvl 50'ish) can't even get into old world content..it's always locked out.

My druid is dualspec bear / kitty and it's great. if the tank dies i just waltz in and take care of things..and if were short on melee i can kitty dps. As for healing..LOL battle rez is the extent :P i totally suck as a healer. They are extremely versatile. It would be even better with TRI spec :)

Oh wow Trailmix, that sucks! I'm so sorry! My brother had his account hacked last year..he was an enchanter and they took 6 bags full of mats, 3k gold and all of his gear (and sold it). They they proceeded to WIPE his professions so that he had to start from scratch when his account was retrieved :(

He stopped playing for awhile...He was over the top pissed.

On a side note, we were in 25 Ulduar last night and we were at Freiya...WHAT A B***H FIGHT! argh....and people started getting cranky and blaming each other for wiping time after time..

So I went to bed....Those people hurt my head :(

Holy SHITE! can't say enough about getting those Authenticators folks ($7.95 at Blizz?) - it's a little keyfob that generates an additional number which is required upon signin - once you've activated it on your Blizz account, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to hack you because the hacker would have to know your password and have your authenticator at the moment they're hacking you - so unless a close family member hacks you :( You're good to go.

Don and I both have one and I'm considering getting one for my daughter - I tend to lose things so I've tethered it to my monitor with a long lanyard

A lot of people get hacked because of vent. If you know what you're doing, you can easily get someones IP address and other info through a vent server. That is why my guild doesn't doesn't allow us to let pugs on our vent unless it is someone that is known to us. The GM's can restore just about everything except for professions and things put up on the AH. I had a friend last year who got hacked, they didn't delete his professions, but they raided his guild bank, and his bank toons guild bank and put everything on the AH for a lot cheaper than the going rate. He then took all his gear, and all the money off all his toons and bought super rare pets and things off the AH that people put up for ridiculous amounts of money for the gold sellers to buy. They caught the guy who did it, but in the end, they couldn't refund his money or restore his professions. At least he got his gear back. :X

Drama in our guild. Our OT decided that he wanted to leave the guild. He said that he wanted to find a guild that raided at later times. The BS part is that our guild pushed back raid times to accomodate him. He was mad because we had 2 groups for 10 man naxx (b4 uludar was released), and nobody would sign up for his group. So he leaves, and now he's trying to take people with him. Only a couple have actually left, but a lot of people are friends with him, and so they put alts in there. Gotta love the high school melodrama in pixel format.

Yeah, i'm on hold for them now, however, an hour after I reported it via email I got an email saying my account had been suspended for not following TOS etc etc. I don't know if this an auto response to my first email - anyway hopefully they won't give me a hard time getting my account restored.

Oh and the authenticator - yes, they are $6.50 - and after the first person in my guild got hacked I thought of getting one - however - surprise - they are sold out!

And yes, I had access to 20 items per day in the guild bank - normally we only allow 5, however I was cleaning it up. They took 20 items there as well.

My friend told me about the authenticator and I got it the very frist day it went online for sale. Guess later on that day people couldn't get theirs so I really lucked out. My real life friends know how much gold and stuff I have, so that's why they said GET IT.

We get the odd person having this occur to still, but not really a whole lot compared to last year and the year before. The majority have come from the guild website and at one point anyone with an account could post and they would post the mis-directed links. One of our officers got nailed that way and hence our over protective guild bank was cleaned out because of it (good thing I don't use it)...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

Well, they reinstated my account yesterday evening - so that's good.

The good news is, the hacker didn't take any of the gear my characters were wearing! They cleaned out my bags and my bank - but not the gear - strange - but also good :lol:

So now I have a request in for them to reinstate the rest of my stuff, i'm sure that could take several days.

Another weird thing - I had 9000 plus gold, which they took - but they left 10g and some change :lol:

LoL, well, you'll get the gold and items back as long as they haven't used the gold on the AH or put the stolen items up on the AH. Good luck.

Hmm - well, in the second email I got from blizz, after I had notified them that someone else had logged in to my account - they basically closed it:

Account Action: Closure

Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation - Economy Exploitation

After a thorough investigation, we have found that a player of the account listed above participated in activities designed to gain an unfair advantage in the World of Warcraft economy.

From that wording it makes me think that whoever did it did in fact use that gold on the AH - will just have to wait and see. It doesn't seem fair that they wouldn't return stuff just because someone was in my account - oh well!

That does sound like someone put items up on the AH for like 1s and tried to buy em or get a friend to buy em. Hope they caught them in time and you get your stuff back. At least they didn't unlearn your professions. I've seen that happen more than a couple times :X

Omg I'm just catching up on all this!! I got this email a few times over the past couple months. I am thinking I better get that autnenticator thing. Is it for sale on the Blizzard site? I have never heard of it. Anyway here's the email I rcvd:

Greetings!

It has come to our attention that you are trying to sell/trade your personal World of Warcraft account(s).

As you may or may not be aware of, this conflicts with the EULA and Terms of Agreement.

If this proves to be true, your account can and will be disabled. It will be ongoing for further investigation by Blizzard Entertainment's employees.

If you wish to not get your account suspended you should immediately verify your account ownership. If the information is deemed accurate, the investigation will be dropped.

This action is taken because we at Blizzard Entertainment take these sales

quite seriously. We need to confirm you are the original owner of the account.

This is easiest done by confirming your personal information along with concealed information about your account.

You can confirm that you are the original owner of the account by replying to this email with:

Use the following template below to verify your account and information via email.

* First and Surname

* Date of birth

* Address

* Zip code

* Phone number

* Country

* Account e-mail

* Account name

* Account password

* Secret Question and Answer or Cd-Key

If you ignore this mail your account can and will be closed permanently. Once we verify your account, we will reply to your e-mail informing you that we have dropped the

investigation.

We ask you to NOT change password until the investigation is fully completed.

Blizzard Entertainment Inc

Regards,

Account Administration Team

Blizzard Entertainment

Yea Like I'm going to send them all that info when they clearly state over and over that they'll NEVER ask for your password. It looks very authentic though because the "from" is Blizzard Entertainment, but my hubby explained how you can easily fake that if you're a hacker. It really makes me wonder if this is how all those sites that sell WoW gold get the gold in the first place. I always thought, how on earth do they make enough to sell it like that. Do they have a warehouse full of people working 20 hours a day just farming gold on WoW, sipping espressos, eyes all bloodshot, scoop em up with a forklift when they pass out and plunk a new one in their spot...

I can't remember if I said this before, but I'm loving QuestHelper!! I also downloaded DBM as suggested, thank you. I haven't tried it out yet cuz I got so hooked on the new Mage I am lvling up now. So much for the Priest, monsters look at her cross-eyed and she keels over! I'll still plug away at her lvls, but it gets frustrating and the mage makes me feel better then lol.

Edit: Trailmix I'm so sorry that happened to you and also so glad it wasn't any worse! What a bunch of cr@p. How can ppl do that to others??!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
