Also just started a gnome mage. I just HAD to have a gnome (even though we play Horde). Wow, mages are powerful to start off!! Not sure how it is later on, but just wow! Compared to my pally I couldn't believe it. I think I leveled during the first quest with the mage lol.

Mages are really strong in raiding. Mages, Locks, and Hunters are always tops in DPS in every raid i've ever been in. I think they nerfed them a bit a few patches ago by making mages take a lot more spirit, but they are still beastly. I'm not too impressed with their PvP abilities though. I love to PvP on my Ret Pali. Only reason I made him a human is because of every man for himself. The best racial ability i've seen, well besides expansive mind for a mage :D

Yep mages are still stong while locks suck compared to what they were before the expansion. I'm still trying to slowly build up the damage meters that I used to top in every fight before the expansion, now I'm really lucky to be 7th or higher (I managed to pull 6th in 25 man Iron Concil last night at least).

I use my shadow priest as my PvP one, I loved it until the last patch which totally killed off our mana pool. Locks are also good in PvP, but I have more fun on my priest.

I love raiding with my mage, probably more then the other two, problem is now we have soooooo many mages in the guild. My lock being my main is the one for all Ulduar (mains only raid group) and for the fun 25 man Naxx runs for alts etc, everyone wants my Shadow priest since I'm 1 of 2 in the guild compared to 40% mages.

Only thing with mages, they're high or top the damage meters, but also love topping the death meters as well. We like to keep rezzing classes in check and busy...

I don't really have a problem with being tops on DPS. I'm always top 3 except when my stupid comp lags and I can't do #######. I use 0/41/30 for trash mobs and 54/0/17 for boss now and have no problem with DPS. I hate Heigan tho, i hate him so hard.

Since a bunch of us play healers here, I have to ask something. What kinds of discussions are going on in your guilds about the legendary healing mace? How did you decided who it went to? The RL has told the healers to work it out for themselves before the first piece drops. As healing lead, I've got to manage that discussion. Our members are usually pretty laid back but I swear if it gets heated, I'm just going to recommend to the RL that we just roll on the first drop.

What is the droprate on that anyways? People are always calm and collected in discussions, but come on, this is legendary gears. A friend of mine lost one of their guilds founding members from pre-BC because he ninja then /gquit when a legendary sword dropped in Black Temple and he lost the roll to a recruit. My guild hasn't even discussed it as we are just getting past XT now. Most of my friends in other guilds give out legendary gear in order of DPS or HPS.

You have to collect 30 parts to the damned thing. It's estimated that most bosses have a 10% chance of dropping a part. Then you have to kill Yogg-Saron. We won't be seeing that thing for quite a while but it's best if the first 30 parts go to the same healer.

I need to try and be unbiased for the general harmony of our healing team despite that fact that I want the thing. That fact that the stats are perfect for holy paladins and there is no spirit or mp5, doesn't help. No one knows exactly how the proc works so Blizz only know what class/role it's really best for.

I hate loot drama. I'm still leaning towards recommending that the good, most reliable healers roll on the first part that drops.

Sounds fair to me. Just be prepared for some grumbles from the peanut gallery.

I think our top raiding guild on our realm is only on the 8th boss. Wonder how many guilds have finished it.

Out of 9 or 10 or so boss kills we've only seen it drop once. We went on our usually veterns in the guild roll on it and were told to please let those that are constantly on roll first. Thing is as mentioned you need to luck out big time to get 29 more of those. I don't expect anyone in our guild to ever get the legendary thing at all with our rolling system...

Does anyone play on a West Coast realm? I'm really thinking about playing on a west coast realm seeing as I live on the west coast and was wondering if anyone could suggest one.

We play on a west coast realm - Antonidas - seems like a nice enough place to me :)

We're on Feathermoon (west coast server). It seems pretty nice...lots of old timers.

How does a realm switch work? Can you only move one character per fee? Hubby and I both have mains plus warlocks that are about 50. Mine needs to get to 60 so she can lvl up her enchanting & inscription more (it's maxed for right now lol). That would be 4 fees between both of us if we ever switched, right?

Which leads me to wondering about all the guild recruitment posts. Anyone who wants into one of those guilds would have to pay for a character move? Wow sure has it figured out how to make lotza$$$. Seems kinda unfair and ridiculous to make you pay that fee on top of the monthly fee paid per family member. Luckily my ex pays for the kids' subscriptions.

Mel and I play on a very very overpopulated realm (Blackhand). They frequently offer free transfers to less populated realms. Sometimes, when they open a new realm, they will have free transfers as well. I'm not really looking to transfer. I think i'd probably just start a new toon on a new realm. I can't decide though. I refuse to play a toon that doesn't have mana, and I absolutely will not play a blood elf. So, I'm thinking either gnome lock, human pali, undead mage, or tauren druid. Hmmmmmm I can't decide :D

for each character it is 25$. I moved 3 of mine off a pvp server to a pve server. and depending on how many are doing it, it can be done within 5 mins or a day or so.

i always make a low lvl char and check out the guilds / latency etc of a realm. then once i decide on a guild i get in vent with them. listen to a few raids etc to see how they act.

We left a very over populated Burning Blade for a much nicer CST Kael'thas, low latency , decen medium pop, and horde / allies get along well even on forums. So far it's the best move we've made...along with be able to lvl up our alts in stv etc with out being ganked..:)

Another question...I'm working on Valient Seals for the argent tournament. Are we only able to duel for them once a day? I defeated each city's defender (or w/e they are) and my timers have run down. I went back and can't challenge them to a duel. It's going to take me forever to get anything out there if I can only duel them once a day. I'm sure there's more levels to this too.
