WoW'ers stand up and be counted!!!

My fiance and I met in WoW shortly after BC was released. I was his paladin/healing class leader. He was half deaf and always said he couldn't hear vent so I had to type every encounter out to him. I then found out a few months later that he could have been listening in vent successfully the whole time, he just preferred to listen to music D:

Anyway, I was pretty active and in successful guilds until last summer when I got an 8-5 job and never had time to raid. He and I would level alts together for "fun," but WoW hasn't really been exciting to me since I've not been able to be in a progressing raiding guild.

Now my WoW time is limited to idling in Ironforge, jumping across the gap and talking to the people who are still on my friends list. And the occasional drunk weekend pvp : )

We're both 80 paladins on Alexstrasza.

Hello fellow WoW people!!

I can't remember if I posted her or not, I don't think so but if it's a repeat I am sorry.

My fiance and I met on WoW last March (2008). Funny thing is we met on an alt run through zf that my friend was goign to take me on. My friend said "hey do oyu mind if we take this sorry looking hunter through ZF he looks like he needs gear. I said sure why not (I was leveling a mage so there was no gear issues). Low and behold we started talking the three of us, found out he had a 70 warrior and warlock. We talked everyday after that though didn't raid together because we were in different guilds at the time and neither one of us wanted to change guilds until Lich King. Anyways we met for the first time in Niagra Falls July of 2008 and have been together ever since traveling back and forth monthly and raiding (now in the same guild) on the weekends. We call them our nerd dates LOL!!

He has now a level 80 Warrior

I have now a level 80 Shaman (resto) and level 80 priest (shadow).

That sounds like a copy of me Except we met in Wow in December 2004 and met in person for the first time in Niagara Falls in Nov 2005 Raiding and traveling and what not until I moved in April 07...

Hmmmm I might be mistaken, but I think we're in the same battlegroup. I've seen people from Alexstrasza in BG's quite a lot.

Mel and I are on Blackhand, although, we might be moving to a West Coast realm. I started on Illidan before BC came out, but only played a few months. I got to 60 in a week and got bored on it. You can only gank so much. Now we play on a carebear realm. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about some stealthed rogue or druid 1 shotting a lowbie lvling in STV

I got some really good boots off of Loatheb in 25 man naxx last night. After I enchanted them, I went to equip them because I wanted to see if it was worth giving up so much crit and spirit for more hit rate. That is when I noticed that they were BoE

Just out of curiosity, I looked em up on the AH and saw two sets selling for a buyout of 6k. They are an upgrade for me, but not much. How much of a douche would I be if I sold em?

you could jsut sell em anyway under a bank alt so no one would know.

We got a late start to it so we ended leaving up Construct and Saph/KT, and ended on Loatheb. I hadn't rolled on anything up to that point, and lost out on the T7.5 shoulders before that. I lost the tier shoulders to a priest who is a really good healer in our guild, so I didn't mind that much. I won the boots rolling a 95 over two mages who rolled in the 80's. One of em had rolled on something earlier so she wasn't gonna get it (guild loot rules). The other mage who rolled was decently geared. All epics except one trinket and cloak. But even with decent gear, he only did 1.8k DPS in a 25 man, so I figured he was worthless even if he had a full T8 set

I was thinking about putting em on AH for a retarded amount and see if they sell. If not, i'll equip em.

I say sell them if they aren't that much of an upgrade. Thats what I would try to do, if they don't sell then use them

He's obviously missing something in setup - my Husband's mage - who is not particularily well geared - can out DPS my Shadow Priest - who is pretty decently geared. Have seen the same thing in our guild - we help out those folks by pointing them in the right direction to do research - or finding out what they are missing.

Hey Rob, what did you mean about your guild raiding rules - what rules do you guys have in terms of rolling/winning in a run?

This is interesting to me as we discussed different methods of trying to ensure that people were getting a fair shot at loot, but we decided to go with a more low key approach as our guild is small and friendly. What this means is I haven't seen any loot for weeks - correction, I did win the gorilla in a bubble last night!

Interesting yesterday. We have had 6 new people join our guild, 3 brought over by one of our former guildies who moved back to our server last week - 2 from another guild we have been raiding with. All really nice people, which is great.

Anyway, we are basically doing 10 man naxx at the moment and we now almost have too many people for one group. So we did OS Friday night then heroics Saturday - to help some of these new folks get geared and then since we had 10 80s online we decided to drop in to naxx - good fun.

So Sunday rolls around and the same 10 people show up, all wanting to do naxx - good stuff - except we have another 80 who wants to go.

Weeeeeeeellll - someone says, we could roll for the spot - the one grouch in the guild says no - I am not doing that. So I offer to sit out (I already knew that is where it would end up ) - and I log and say back in a bit.

Well then someone else had dropped out - because they thought I would be better in the group.

Long story short - the person who had dug her heels in got some upsetting phone call and had to leave (which i'm very sorry about).

I'm just babbling but it's weird to go from a group that had trouble getting a 10 person group together to having too many wanting to raid!

We've always had trouble getting 25 mans together, and only just in the last 2 months been able to get them together. We usually take 2 nights to finish, and have a 1 epic per night per person rule. If nobody rolls on something, then people can roll for off-spec which won't count against your 1 per night. I've seen in a PuG where they give the drop to the top DPS/HPS.

It's always funny the drama that people create about getting into raids. My comp is pretty messed up at home and I can't get above like 3 FPS on 25 man runs, so I'm just lvling other toons til I can afford to get a new comp. Semi-retired from raids and working on an arena team.

...i hate blizzard....if i have to reset talents on 5 chars one more bloody time...grrrr.

on a lighter note..we tried ulduar 25 last night..blowing stuff up is fun did not get flame leviathan down though...oh wells
