Hello everyone,

I filled AOS on Jan 2nd and today ( March 17th) had my Biometrics appointment. Just checked the status of AP and it was mailed yesterday so I should receive it soon. How long after the Biometrics appointment should I expect the interview?

I greatly appreciate any info or stories you can share.

Thanx

Nobody can answer this question by giving exact time. There is no definite

timeline for anybody from the USCIS point of view. Every case is different

but I can give you minimum time approximately after bio app.

Usually between 2-3 months, don't take this timeline as granted.

This is just my guess, of course considering that

you don't have any RFE in the future.

GOOD LUCK !.. Keep us posted.

I had my fingerprint scan the first time on Jan 21, 2009 and they had to re-do it feb 20, 2009 and my interview is on april 15, 2009... so for my case its 45 days after my last biometric appointment. I hope that answers some of your issues.

But I can tell you this, AOS appointment is usually scheduled about 6 weeks after

you receive the notice letter for AOS appointment from your local USCIS.

Of course, assuming that if your case was not transferred to CSC.

However, if it was transferred to CSC, it usually takes 3 months + to receive GC &

again usually no interview required. I hope I've answered your questions.

GOOD LUCK !...

Thank you all for your responds,

What are the elements that make this time shorter of longer? is it the FBI or background check?

I am coming from a country that has some problems with the U.S I think that will effect the process.

Everything depends on how your application goes through.

Yes, they do profile, but also You can get stuck with FBI

clearance, USCIS might demand RFE's etc.....

After your biometrics, they usually decide where to send your files.

There are 2 alternatives :

1) Transferring to CSC (Usually no Interview needed & takes about 3 months to get the GC)

2) Send your folder to Local USCIS office ( With interview & usually takes 3-4 months to get the GC)

GOOD LUCK !.....

RFE stands for Request For Evidence.

Depends on the case . Each case is different.

When it is transferred, they will let you know anyway.
