Yes, my fiance sees a LOT of it, even in her more provincial area. She even has a distant cousin who does it! She told me to give you this rule of thumb, IF a lady asks for money...RUN! Don't contact her ANYMORE. FIND another and move on.

Moving on w/life

I'd be curious to see the $$$ amounts of how much money gets transferred to the Philippines via Western Union and Xoom everyday. I bet it would be shocking. What do you think??? :reading:

And not just from the USA, but from other foreign countries like Australia, UK, Europe...

I know it is not all going to be men sending women money. I'm sure a lot of it is overseas workers or family that has immigrated to other countries.

But, I do know of a few single guys that have gotten used for money by girls at Internet cafes and ones advertising their singleness on the asian dating websites.

Buyer beware.

If I didn't have bad luck, I would have no luck at all!

I am glad that I knew my future wife's family here in Hawaii first. Also that is the only way I would meet potential mates. See if the family here in Hawaii is "normal" first. Also I notice that alot of Ilocanos come here through family connections instead. Also I did not see alot of young ladies chatting in the cafes in Laoag. I saw mostly college students and gamers.
