Well we just got approved today!!! Thank God!!! It has been a long journey up to this point, but all so worth it.

I do have a question though, when my fiancee was filling out the medical forms, for POE we had put Detroit because at the time that was the cheapest ticket available. Now that time has gone by, that POE is actually one of the more costly.

As I understand it, they will send the Medical CD to the POE you had mentioned on the medical forms. Is it required to enter the US through the POE mentioned in the medical forms, or can you somehow get them to deliver the medical CD to a residence in the US or another POE? Is the medical CD necessary to have? Can we go through another POE or is it a must that we have to go through Detroit now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I think the visa packet that the usem sends back to the beneficiary together with the passport are all the documents needed to be presented to the POE.

And they didn't say anything about missing the medical CD? You had no problems going through a different POE or did they question you about it? If it is not needed then it will save me a much needed $1,000 to go through a different POE. Will the medical CD be needed during the AOS process? Thank you for all that have replied! This site has been very very helpful

The visa packet that will be delivered to your fiancee along with her passport and visa contains all the docs needed to present to the POE. That's why the visa packet says: Do not open or attempt to open the visa packet/envelope. Only an immigration officer of health officer is authorized to open this packet.

CONGRATS!!!

Thank you HappyDancer!!! Does anyone know what the medical CD that they send to the POE is used for then? Is it just for your own reference? And why do they send it to the POE? hehe, well if it is not needed then that is a relief.

Thanks again!

They don't send it to the POE I don't think. Where did you get that info? The medical results are all saved on the CD. It's for the records of the health and immigration bureau. They need it to assess what kind of vaccination you need to have, if you need medical attention when you enter the US and why.

your right Happy dancer. the contents of the brown envelope are sent to USCIS from your POE. the next time your might see it would be if you have an AOS interview. the contents of your brown envelope will be in the File on the desk of the IO.

The CD contains only your xray result.like what they've mentioned,it's included in the visa packet that'll be delivered to you.after entering your POE,the department of health will send you the cd for u to keep it for future references.that's what they did to my son's cd,they sent it to us after 2 days of arriving here.

that's what I thought. back in 2006, they gave you the actual X-Ray. it wasn't part of the brown envelope. I think we still have the X- Ray somewhere in the closet.
