Good morning everyone

It seems like the USA embassy in Cairo gives problem to Egyptian guys lately and they don't give anyone visa .

they put so many people in AP . yesterday it was Amanda -Amr interview and the CO was kinda mean and he put the in AP.the other day it was Christie-Samir interview and the CO was kinda mean too and he put them in AP ......

even people who had their interview in Jan are still waiting .....

It really scares me so much and I'm so worried .:blink:

I know that every case is different then the other . and what happened to someone maybe it wont happen to me .

I was checking the DHL site earlier and it seems like the embassy sent me the interview letter and maybe i will get it morrow.

I hope that everything will work out good for me and for my fiancee .

I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off and trying to get ready for the interview as much as i can .

Pray for us guys .

Good luck and my best wishes for everyone who is waiting to hear good news .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Relax. It's the clean version of hell, remember? We never got an interview letter. After e mailing the embassy a few times, they sent it to ME via e mail.

As far as the mean CO, my husband's must have had him for the first interview, but after a 6 month AP, he was called for a second interview which was with a much nicer CO and given his visa that day.

Cairo Embassy will jack you up, but patience and prayer is the key. It's gonna be alright, I promise.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Mohamed, just go in there with all of your ducks in a row and be confident in your love. Be ready to answer any question that they ask you and try and not show your nerves. I know easier said than done. I believe that every consular and every situation is different. The person that was not very nice to one of the others may connect with you. I don't feel as if you have the kind of personality that would clash with a consular on your end. But we know how they can be...you've dealt with them before you can do it this time. I think most ME men are put on AP. I was told by my state representative that they do not know if your name will hit until they go to try and attempt to print the visa. If your name comes back they have to look into it.

I will keep you and Trina in my prayers as well as everybody else. I know this AP stuff downright sucks but if there is nothing found then there is hope you will be reunited. Best wishes and God bless.

Don't worry about it. You will have the mean CO. I think its just their way of "weeding out the bad people", but don't worry and don't think about what happened to someone else. Just go in, be yourself, try not to talk to anyone while your waiting for your interview, don't lie to the CO, do your interview in English and everything should be fine. I know my now husband came from Lebanon, but he believes this is what helped him during his interview. This is what he did and we were immediately approved whereas other people were put on AP the same day.

Good Luck

Try not to compare your case with what has happened to others. Like others have said, the CO's are going to be harsh, it's basically part of their job. And like others have said, it's kinda their way of weeding out the bad. It's not very effective but what can they do. Think about how many ppl (mostly men) who go through that embassy and how many cases in which they believe there is fraud. It's huge. Of course they don't trust anyone. I wouldn't. Just go prepared and be confident in yourself. I've never heard of a straight out denial in the case of family visas. You may get a long AP but in the end you'll most likely get your visa. What's a few months in the grand scheme of things?

HG, you and I both live in Egypt, right? There's no way I'm the only one who knows about the outrageous amount of marriage/visa fraud that goes on here. And I'm not the only one who knows how desperate Egyptians are to get out of here and have even a little bit of a chance for a better, happy life. Poverty and desperation make people do things they wouldn't normally do. Sure, AP serves a purpose by keeping the potential bad guys out. But it also serves another purpose: to make sure the relationship stands the test of time. If a couple can make it though months and even years of waiting, if it's not just the potential immigrant calling and crying to Immigration about when they're going to get their visa, and if the couple don't just throw their hands in the air and call it quits, the chances are pretty good the marriage is real and not just for immigration purposes. Immigration knows this, and that's why they do what they do. They have their reasons and, since they're in charge, let them have their reasons and do what everyone else does: wait.

Do you know this for a fact? That they do AP to see if the relationship will stand the test of time? I'd like some proof of this since I'd love to send it to my congressman and senators! Seriously that being a reason for AP would tick me off to no end. STand the test of time? I mean seriously, I can see putting two people together to see if they stand the test of time but keeping them apart for 8 months (in my case that's how long the AP was) is not a good way to judge how a relationship is. Half the time I've seen here people waiting longer than that and they split up before a few months are up once they start living together.

I've seen others who had little wait time split up, too, and real quick.

AP for purposes of testing staying power is ridiculously flawed.

Actually any method of weeding out the bad is flawed. Anyone see that episode of Family Guy where Peter and Lois are being interviewed by the Immigration Officer and the officer asks to prove how real his marriage is by remembering Lois' birth date? That was hilarious and somewhat true in that immigration thinks they can prove something intangible as real love and commitment by simply having ppl remember dates and produce emails and such.

And as a different viewpoint couldnt that long terrrible wait break up a couple who is truly in love. And by the time they are together they are so tired and stressed from the long seperation and the hell of immigration that they are too tired and wore out to work on a marriage?

I swear we're about to lose our minds and when he ever gets here we're goona be too crazy do anything. Everthing keeps going wrong. It's like fate is sitting back laughing it's head off at us. One of our computer's always going on the blink and needing an expensive repair. Internet on his end ALWAYS crazy. My cheapass phone service no good connection. We can't even hold a decent converstation anymore. IT"S DRIVING US INSANE.

I JUST WANT TO BE WITH MY HUSBAND, THATS WHY THE HELL I MARRIED HIM. We can't afford for me to go there and wait with him until that CO gets off his #### and does that final approval. I swear somedays we just want to kill ourselves to get out of this fricking hell of immigration. I mean NIGHTMARE!!!!!

It's been 19 months since I've seen him and I'm going INSANE.

It's crazy... How many men(and women, less often) forget birthdays and even anniversaries, for crying out loud? Even knowing where your spouse works, if you have never been there to visit it would be easy to forget or just memorize it, how does that prove love? It seems like love isn't the issue though - witness the thread where the Pakistani girl was trying to get her visa denied because she was in a forced arranged marriage(and yet they would likely be approved because of 'cultural norms', especially if she is young) - while I am stressing and thinking we are likely to be denied because although we love each other our marriage does not fit 'cultural norms'.

For all of you on AP - just be thankful your petition wasn't sent back to USCIS - that is what I am dreading and don't know how we will handle it if we get a NOID. I know it must be hell to be in your shoes - I have not seen my hubby in over 8 months - but in most situations there is usually a worse alternative. There will be an end to the AP, you know you don't have to prove your relationship to anyone anymore.

Sorry guys - I am just so afraid like I have never been afraid in my life and not trying to diminish your pain. I need access to good eye care and if he gets denied I cannot move to Nepal so trying to think of 'what if'.

I see that your interview date was in January? Is this the initial interview? If so, you haven't been in AP long at all. Any hold ups along the way as far as getting a co-sponsor is not the fault of the Cairo embassy.
