USCIS WEbsite Confusion

I am so freaking confused,.... I enter the case number ion the USCIS website and for the last three weeks the message has been the same....

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On December 19, 2008, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

We have received a letter from them dated March 9th, 2009 that says Approval notice, but the site still remains unchanged. Also....when will I receive a caser number for the next step, as I am assuming it will come from NVC.....

Can someone clarify all this for me??? Thanks

Sometimes that website doesn't update, thankfully your NOA2 came. You don't need the USCIS website for a while now.

Your case number will come from NVC directly.

Listen to MrsCat! It's very annoying I know, but that website if often not updated. I remember getting my GC and it was still listed as it was prior to my interview.

Once your file is received at NVC they will assign you a NVC case#. You can access the NVC AVR (automated voice response) system using your USCIS # until that happens. The best way to get updated info, however, is to speak directly to an operator.
