My 360 file was approved in february 2008 and in september 2008 I got my EAD.

In December I received an interview date for Green Card for February 5th and I went to the interview and the officer told me I would receive the card in couple of weeks. It's been almost 6 weeks now and I didn't receive anything yet. I called the Customer Service number and they sent me a reply letter in which they say they are "actively processing the case " and that they"are performing additional review in this case and this has caused a prolongued processing time" And if I "don't receive a decision or any notice of action in 6 months" that I should call the National Customer Service Center at the number the provide in there.

Did anybody experience something similar? Do I really need to wait for 6 months when the officer at the interview told me I would get my card in a couple of weeks?

Thank you!

Because that is the subject of the I-360, which has already been approved yet...and does not need to be known to answer the original question.

Chris, if you received an update on your case, in writing, you should wait out the additional time stated by USCIS. Perhaps some additional checks are needed before the card can be issued.

Hi all,

This site has been a source of encouragement reading all your journeys.

I don't know anyone who has interviewed for Permanent Residence after the VAWA (I-1360) approval.

Sept 2009- i-360 approved

November 2009 - filled AOS i-485

November 30 2009 - Received receipt

December 24 2009- Did biometrics

February 18 2010- scheduled for Interview at the local office

I wouldn't worry if i were you. I'd call the proper authorities to check if my name check and fingerprints are ready(they are fast with that, they usually get those out of the way the same day)...but just for your peace of mind, call and ask. Then, make an Infopass and go talk to them at the immigration office. Ask to speak to a manager if the officer you talk to is not too helpful. If that still doesn't work and you receive a "get out of here, your case is in processing" answer, then have a bit more patience :) because you will eventually receive your card. If more time goes by and you still haven't received your card, you can also opt to write your state rep. That should get it done :). Good luck

PS: The officer ALWAYS tells you that you will receive the card in 2 weeks. Well sometimes they say 3 weeks :) but usually they say 2 weeks...some will actually say 2-3 weeks:)don't really know why. That is standard answer. Yes, sometimes you will not receive it in weeks but months. You have to have patience. Until those 6 months expire, there is nothing you can do aside from wait. Why the hurry anyway? You are legal with or without the card, as long as your papers are being processed.

Chris2 I saw several cases like yours, and after a few weeks they received their GC. Just be patient you will receive your GC soon.

There is a thread here in the visa journey called Vawa part and several people applied for Vawa and many of them had AOS interview already.

Kibetitole Vawa Unit is adjudicating cases received in November 2011, then you still have to wait at least 9/10months.

[Hello Newbi,

I want to know if you received your green card and how long did u wait

The OP hasn't logged on to VJ in nearly 4 years. The last post before this was 26 months ago. Please attend to dates before reviving a zombie thread.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
