Hello all, friend of mine just told me about this site, and i am currently at the part of the k-1 processing where my fiancee and I are getting the paperworks ready for an interview. Two questions i have is 1)Should we get all the required paperworks ready first before requesting an interview date, or can we request an interview date, and then get all the requirements before the interview date. 2)My income is more than likely not enough for the affidavit of support based on the 2009 poverty line, being a student. My parents has agreed to help me as my co-sponsor(s), my question is which affidavit, I-134 or I-864, do we need and who will need what?

i would get all of the needed papers ready before requesting an interview date. i am ot sure all that you need for K-1.

As far as the I-134, and I-864 they are the same really. It seems most are starting to use the I-134. And list you parents

on the form. Usually if you make i think it is $20k or more you are fine.

you will need to submit and I-134 with supporting documentation and your co-sponsor will submit a separate I-134 with supporting documents. you will want these documents such as employer letter, etc. to be dated close to the interview date. so if you do not yet have your NOA2, wait for that to get time-sensitive documents; however, definitely begin gathering evidence and information now! good luck with your process! :star:

list your parents on the form? where? they will need a separate form...best advice- read the guides and check out the manila embassy page. you will find all this at the top of the VJ page.

Great yall. Anyways i have 4 letters so far, First letter is Notice of Action which they received my I-129f, Second Letter is Notice of Action which is approval of petition, 3rd letter states that the approval is being sent to the consular in Manila, Philippines, and 4th letter states that my case is eligible for visa interview. So thats why we are getting the papers ready based on the information in the website given in the letter. And therefore the reason for my question whether to get all the files ready first before requesting interview or requesst interview and then gather all the paperworks before the interview.
