Green Card Interview-Any hidden costs?

Hi,

I have my interview on April 20.

I received my notice via email and there was no mention of bringing any money to the interview for further payments.

Does that mean i'm all payed up? Is the 'biometrics' cost included in the $400 payment I made a little while back?

Any feedback would be excellent!

I know for the K3 route there is an extra cost for things...but not for CR1. But definitely check out the guides and the Montreal Embassy web site.

When was your case complete at NVC? I know MTL takes forever to book interviews....

When was your case complete at NVC? I know MTL takes forever to book interviews....

I'm applying for an IR1 Visa.

I believe that the NVC finished up with me sometime in late February (I don't know the exact date), but possibly just before yours was done (I noticed your timeline).

Do you have an interview yet?

If you don't for April, I would say that you will almost for sure have one for May. Don't wait until the 'second week' of the month to call.

I called the first few days of this month and they had the date ready.

for cr-1/ir-1, no more fees at the consulate

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I assume you're talking about an AOS interview. There weren't any charges when I went. If you're talking about a K1 interview in Montreal, I think there's a charge of $130 or so.

No the OP is talking about the CR-1 interview in Mtl, which for a cr-1, there are no fees. If they DCF, I belive that is a different story, but for a regular CR-1, no extra $$$

What if the K3 visa gets bumped to a CR1, do you have to pay the NVC fee's at the consualte after for it being a different interview than a K3?
