It all depends which service center you send your forms to. According to the site, the California center get fewer cases then the Vermont Service center. But they seem to be moving now. The site is showing 6 months for completion and if you check some of the timelines, those that filed in nov/dec are getting their NOA 2. Have faith its coming.

Ours was for the Advanced Parole.

Input the number and nothing would show up.

We were over the 90 days and stil nothing.

I started calling twicw a day.

Last Monday I called 5 times in 45 minutes, got 5 different people with 5 different answers.

1. In process and will be done in 30 days

2. The system is down Call back in 30 minutes

3. Shold be hearing something in 5 days

4. The AP does not showup on their screen

5. The system is down call back tomorrow.

Found my senators number on the internet, called his office.

30 minutes later the senators office called back, the CA office had found the application and it was in the fianl stage.

I asked why they did not just go ahead and approve the application since they had it in thier hands, they replied, "good question.

45 minutes later the senators office called back the application had been approved.

The wife and I flew to Brazil on Thursday.

I returned yesterday.

I will go to Brazil in 2 months and deliver to her the AP.

Senators office said that if this was accepable since she was approved before she left the country.

Senator also stated that if we had a problem on reintry to call his office.

Amazing went from the system is down to approval in just over and hour!!!

My Noa1 was dated March 2nd and I STILL am not in the system. I call USCIS all the time and get a big run around. It is frustrating to not be able to check your case online.

THEY ARE RETARDS ON THE USCIS! I called from Costa Rica, my husband is the petitioner and they didnt give any information, they said he has to call... THAT'S STUPID!!

My petitions took 8 1/2 months to be approved. Once your K-3 gets to the NVC, it gets to Costa Rica really fast. You can actually track the DHL package and you can see when it gets delivered AND once they receive it you can e-mail them and ask them to e-mail you the packet 3 so you can get started. You can only pick up the package from the embassy Tues, Wed and Fri between 12 and 1:30 ( almost sure of the times) but you can call for your dr. appts and get everything you need within a few days and you can make your interview within a few days if you hustle. You get to pick what day you want to be interviewed. ( FYI- when I called, they told me they really like it when both spouses attend the interview)

They require the 156 and 157 be filled out online. The 156 was no problem.... the 157 wasn't possible, so we filled it out in the car on the way to the embassy. THey were perferctly fine with that. You can get all the photos you need for the interview at the embassy but you need photos when you go to the doctor.

The police report has to be translated into english. We only paid about $16.00 for that. Also, the marraige cert needs to be translated. Same thing... $16.00.

If you need info, I'll be happy to help out where I can.

Glad to hear that the embassy in C.R. is quick. Of course VMC isn't. My I129f which I have a NOA1 from nov. 14th still isn't in the online system and I'm beginning to believe is lost. Will call tomorrow and see if I can actually get someone to tell me something and try for a service request since it will have been 6 month's. Put one in for my I130 last week and the online system still shows oct, 20th. EEERRRGGGHHH!

you can't go by the automated systems. The operators at USCIS are useless. They are scripted. They have no information to offer. If you have been at the USCIS for 6 months, your best bet is to contact your local congressman's office and ask them to inquire about your case. That is more likely to get your case reviewed or at least it will bring some attention to it .

BTW.... My K-3 package arrived in Costa Rica AND I had an interview date and the NVC automated system still said they had no record of my case.

NVC is in NH. USCIS is in VT. You'd think it would take a day, two at most to send mail from NH to VT. My case was approved March 5th, 2009. It took 11 days for the NVC to receive my K-3 package. The I-130 took another week but I wasn't going that route so I wasn't too concerned. Others that were approved the same day as I was, had their K-3's received at NVC within 2 days of their approval. IT WAS SOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING. :bonk: Once the K-3 was sent to Costa Rica, things moved really fast.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE

Thanks. Just called USCIS and since they were showing no records of it the transferred me to someone else. He said my case was approved last week. Of course still no showing online, no E-mail, and no NOA2. Maybe it'll be there today. Hope he was right.

Congrats !!!

Follow you papers to the NVC.... Don't go by thier automated systems ..... always get a human. They are opened til late at night so you can bother them all night if you have to.... I used to call about 5 times a day. Its their job.... don't feel bad....

Although... I used to get the same girl constantly... Her name was Starr..... I'm sure I got on her nerves....

Good LUCK
