Hi All,

I am in AOS process and have just received the interview letter for May 6th! I have a question about my EAD. It's been more, then 4 months since USCIS received my I765 form. I called customer service after 90 days passed and was told to schedule infopass appointment.

Infopass didn't give me any new information: but "your EAD is in the process". It was a waste of time. I called USCIS and the requested the temporary EAD for me. I was told I would get it within couple of weeks ( 02/25/09). Still nothing. Now I have the interview coming up in 1,5 months.

Would you recommend call USCIS again and ask, what's going on? Maybe I don't ask the right questions? It's a terrible situation, when you are not able to look for a job. I am sure I am not alone there. It upsets me, that we paid fees for EADs and there is a possibility never to get one.

Is there anyone, who never received the work authorization before the interview?

Best Regards to everyone!

The cost of doing AOS is $1010.00 There is no fee for the EAD so you have not lost anything, If you had not filed for the EAD it still would have cost you the same.

Yes there are many people who have been approved for AOS and they never did get the EAD. All you can do is make another infopass appointment and ask the officer to request the service center issue a desision on your EAD as it is outside the processing date.

Good Luck with the interview

I agree it could be worse! :) My attorney made a mistake, he sent the outdated version of I765 along with my AOS package. So I got a rejection notice with my I485 notice... We resent the right I765 on 10/15/08 and USCIS received it on 11/04/08, but I got the actual notice on 09/13/09 after I called customer service two times... Just a bad luck.

Hi SPG, I haven't received my EAD either. We are approaching the 90th day timeline. However, our interview is scheduled for next week so we plan to bring it up altogether. I will keep you posted how it goes, or please PM me later next week.

Hi FRJ, your timeline is incredibly fast!!! Congrats :)

Thanks, I am interested indeed! Good luck to you! When you'll get your GC, you can forget about EAD.
