Pending I-485 since 04/2007. Renewing EAD 2nd time. Still need to pay a fee?

Hi

I am trying to help a friend of mine cause she doesn't wanna pay $500 to her lawyer for renewing EAD. Her I-485's been pending since 04/2007. First time she paid $180 fee together w/I-485 then $340 for renewing it in 04/2008. Now she is still pending and her EAD needs renewing again. Does she neet to pay $340 again because she filed her I-485 before July 30, 2007 ?

Is she eligible to e-file if her category is ©(9).

Yes she needs to pay the fee again. Why is her case not been approved yet? has she had any recent contact with USCIS to find out why it has not been approved or denied?

It is very unusual for her to be still waiting after 2 years.

She should be making an infopass appointment at her local office to find out what is going on and she may also want to get her Congress person involved.
