Hi,

I have not received I-751 approval from VSC. It's been a year since I mailed the packaged to VSC (3.15.08) and the last time that my case was touched was 4.24.2008. That's when I completed my fingerprints. I called 1800 number and I was told the info that is available online (no help). I am already eligible to apply for naturalization. Can I do it without I-751 approval. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Go ahead.

Instead of your 10-yr green card (which you don't have), attach a copy of your expired green card and a copy of the 1-yr extension.

Yes (my info is in me signature), I have done that, and just as Italian said, use your NOA with your expired card as proof of your eligibility.

Yes. If your I-751 still isn't approved by the time they adjudicate your citizenship application they will be forced to make a decision right then and there. Citizenship forces a decision for an outstanding I-751, so definitely apply if you intend to pursue citizenship. It is a win/win solution.

I agree w/ Kathyrn... but I don't know how quickly it forces the decision I have seen people still wait a few months for the ROC decision, but they have to work on that case before they can do the N-400 anyhow... so in the least they will look at the file.
