I will add at the check-in/ticket/baggage drop counter at Heathrow with Continental, they asked to see the brown envelope. Don't really know how they knew the K1 status...maybe saw the visa in the passport. They just wanted to verify that he had it with him in carry-on bag for arrival in Houston. They didn't open it or anything, just asked him to show it to them. Maybe they've had experience with K1s who forget it and it causes them trouble if the person gets to POE and can't be admitted, so they are checking before they let you on the plane.

Have they not changed the onboard forms now?

I thought you had to fill in an online form at least 4 days in advance of travel? That's what we were told about work travel to the States anyway......thinking about it, maybe that's just for the visa waiver thing and therefore it's not needed?

I think that ESTA replaces just the green form for Visa Waiver. Perhaps they won't have any more green forms on the plane by now.

You are a citizen or eligible national of a Visa Waiver Program country.

You are currently not in possession of a visitor's visa.

Your travel is for 90 days or less.

You plan to travel to the United States for business or pleasure.

They are definitely still passing out the I-94Ws on the plane. I was on a flight from Amsterdam to LAX about a week ago and they were passing them out to VWP people.

Yup, plus with ESTA at the moment they don't record you leaving the US, they still do that by taking the I-94W from you when you board back to the UK. Not sure when it is going to completely take over.

But no need to complete ESTA when you travel on a K-1.

Also be prepared to have an immigration officer who does not have a clue what the K-1 visa is!!! I had to explain the whole darn process to the one who attended to me, she then took my xray and proceeded to squash it into the 'DO NOT OPEN ENVELOPE', Mmmm, I thought, hope I wont need that.

I took the Manchester O'Hare flight last month. POE at O'Hare was very quick and easy, however if you are flying AA be prepared to be grossly irritated by the bunch of people they have pre-screening the queue at Manchester. Reminded me why I much prefer to fly from Heathrow or Gatwick! The even relatives can be terrorists who are just using you for their own ends line that I got from the women screening us was way over the top!

Must be related to the lady I had at Dublin on my AA flight.

Yeah I had similar problems with AA at Dublin. They wanted to take me away for questioning, because I couldn't remember the flight number of the flight I got into Dublin the day before. Way OTT. I asked to speak to a manager, then was told never mind, and she rushed me through. I think she was on some kind of power trip.

So you got to experience her too lol its gotta be the same women. I did prefer Dublin Airport to Manchester Airport as I found it had more shops and more to do. I also got to have my last 100% genuine poured Irish Guinness too. I hope she never put SSS on your boarding pass.

Big butch woman? I've no idea what she put on my boarding pass. I last flew out of Dublin with Aer Lingus without any hassle.
