Aos interview b4 EAD Question/problems

Hi everyone! I am new to these posts and was hoping someone could help me.

my wife and i were married on january 14th, 2009 and submitted the AOS package on the 30th of january. Received NOA 1 for biometrics on Feb.6th for a feb 24th appointment. I just received yesterday first interview appointment for April 30th but have not received my EAD.

The problem lies:

I am worried because I am not able to open a joint bank account with my wife given I don't have my EAD. Due to this we won't have any canceled checks to show or anything of that sort.

I have a gas and electric bill in both of our names as well as a ton of pictures of our life together, trips, wedding, family, etc.... We also have a bunch cards, letters, and invitations with both our names on it.

I am not complaining that my interview time is close by but shouldn't it be obvious that since I don't have the proper documents because I haven't received my EAD that much of this stuff is difficult to do, such as opening a joint bank account and getting a drivers liscense?

do you guys think this will hurt me at all for the interview?

Can you get your SSN? Banks don't generally require EAD to open an account, but they require an SSN. Maybe you can't get an SSN because of the type of visa you applied for. ????

All you can do is make your best effort to comingle finances and then bring what you have and explain why you don't have certain documents.

As long as you have other strong proof of a bonafide marriage, the lack of a joint account shouldn't make much of a difference. Lots of couples don't get a joint account. Use all your other proof, written statements, and can then explain the lack of an account at the interview.

My husband and I were able to open a joint account in Bank of America. They didnt asked for my SSN. I just showed them my passport and use my Husband (USC) ssn in the account. The lady just told me to just give them my ssn when its already available.

You sent all of your application in January and 3 months later you have an interview?!

Wow!!! We live in NH and we sent everything in Feb 9th... Its a good feeling knowing we might get our interview in this turn-around time!!

I am astounded!

I am happy that my interview notice came so quickly just in 3 months. I wasnt expecting it! When I filed myAOS it was like waiting forever but now I got my interview letter it seems like time is flying so fast that I have only few weeks now to prepare everything for our interview. Im really nervous.

Spartan filed his AOS February 2 and already got his interview letter. So I think you'll gonna get your IL in your mailbox soon! Goodluck!
