I inquired last 2 weeks ago at the city hall regarding the police clearance. The lady told me that they only have Police Clearance that is valid for 30 days only.

Now, i'm wondering if i am going to submit my police clearance together with the DS-230 documents this March - Do i need to get another new police clearance if my interview date is already assigned (let's say my interview is on June 2009)...

Can someone tell me where can i get a police clearance that has 60 days of validity..I am from Pasig City...

Cheers!

As long as they don't write a expiry date it should be fine. Check this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3650.html

Police records

Available and reasonably reliable. Philippine-born immigrant visa applicants 16 years and over are required to furnish certificates issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The green NBI certificate annotated for travel abroad is the correct certificate. Other colors are for local use only. Foreign-born applicants who have resided in the Philippines for six months or more may be issued NBI clearances upon application either in person or by mail. Applicants should send requests for certificates together with certified checks or money orders for the fees and postage to the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Metro Manila, Philippines. The NBI has its own fingerprint charts and personal data forms that it will send to the requesting applicant for execution. Most applicants abroad find it more expeditious to have a relative or friend in the Philippines assist them in obtaining their certificates from the NBI. The applicant may also submit a copy of a prior NBI clearance to facilitate the processing of a new clearance. Posts are advised that not all arrests and convictions occurring outside of Manila are reported to the NBI. The Philippine criminal records database is not foolproof, and can be open to manipulation. Manila and major Philippine cities have computerized records. Fee: 150.00 pesos. Philippine Embassies abroad can assist Filipinos in obtaining NBI police clearances.

The validity date carries no meaning in the eyes of the Consulate. They are only concerned the issue date.

I've already read this but here in the Phils - it depends on the city where you have lived... In my city, the validity is only 30 days.. I have no choice but to get another one (to avoid RFE from the consul).. But thanks for the time to read.

This thread is from Mania embassy please read full if you want to. link: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3219.html

"Applicants must submit application documents to NVC to be documentarily qualified for the visa interview. Unless all requirements are submitted, the Embassy cannot process a visa application to completion. Be mindful of the expiration dates of the required documents, and bring updated ones to the interview if necessary."

So you can take the updated one at the Interview. I hope you got the answer.

I read elsewhere that NBI clearance valid for 1-year and police clearance valid for 6-months (probably PC varies from city to city). I think that for immigration purpose you need NBI clearance. I am not sure; I hope any body from Philippines can answer more precisely.

Actually my friends told me that i should get NBI Clearance and Police Clearance.. NBI Clearance is good for one year which i already have.. But the police clearance is depends on what city i have lived here in the Phils. I lived in Pasig for 26 yrs of my life - so i have to request one at the City Hall. However the validity is only good for 30 days.

My plan is to renew it on April and May and then on June (hopefully my interview would be on that month) - at least i have an update police clearance...)

Yes, they will only require the NBI, but if its up to you if you still want to get that police clearance in your area.

NBI Clearance is good enough, police clearance is required when you live outside the Philippines for at least 6 months i guess. We just sent our DS-230 too and I included my local police clearance to be sure but I don't know if it really matter since I already have the NBI clearance. I think here in Davao our police clearance is good for 6 months. Well if you plan to bring a police clearance on your interview, just get a new one like a week before the interview to make sure it is still valid. Sometimes we can't help not to be paranoid about this whole thing. kaloka talaga!!!

Hey we might have same interview date. I am also expecting mine around June. I hope so! By then I would be done with my chemotherapy. Hope everything goes well with our papers. God bless!!! :star:

you need NBI clearance- they call this police clearance in USEM and NVC. Police clearance from the city hall is just an additional document. NBI clearance is good for 1 year.
