I am wondering if someone can tell me how long does it usually take to receive RFE after filing? I filed on 01/29/09 and already had biometrics done. Haven't heard anything after that.

And how about interview? Do they invite some people for interview without first sending RFE, or does that comes after?

We sent lots of evidence, but I know that doesn't mean much and we could still get a letter requesting more evidence.

Thanks

It seems that most RFE's are coming very close to the end of the process. The applications seem to spend a long time just sitting with no one working on them, then when the file is picked up for adjudication, the adjudicator then notices that there is information missing or decides they want something more.. There are individuals waiting at VSC for 11 or 12 months who get an RFE. When they return the information, their approval usually comes within a week or two later. Very few individuals seem to be selected for an interview. I think in all of the cases I can remember the RFE satisfied the request and the 10 year card was issued quickly.

The few interviews that happen with VJers seem to be for statistical purposes and are very much non-events for the participants. You will probably just receive the green card without an RFE or an interview if you send sufficient evidence. Good luck.

There's no specific number of days by which they must send an RFE (if at all) - it can come at any stage when they look at your file and want to see something else. You just need to wait till you get either your greencard or a notice of interview. Good Luck

Dear Senka, the secret of this long trip is just being patient. You just filed it and it is going to take time to receive any news from them like RFE, appointment for interview or approval without RFE or interview.

Where did you send it?

Dear shunshine78, some offices work faster than others.

You sent your documents only a week ago (not count saturdays and sundays). Just keep waiting, they should cash your check soon.

I was just wondering, why are you expecting an RFE....or even an interview. An RFE and or interview to me is kinda bad news, it means they looked over your file and found a problem and either want more evidence or want to interview you two in person. I think it is good that you havent gotten an RFE, just wait one year (VSC) or a few months (CSC) for APPROVAL!

Also, if you feel that your evidence was not sufficient, you can send in more evidence, I just filed mine last week, but someone told me the NOA letter says if you havent already sent in evidence, you should, so that means you can send in more evidence if you are unsure.

If you filed at CSC I'd start checking your mail for the GC. They've been kicking azz lately.
