How long can I leave the country with a conditionnal GC ?

Hello,

The kind of work I do is pretty different than the usual 9 to 5.

I also have a french (= europe) + canadian citizenship.

I can, as a freelance find a job basically all around the world for various length contracts. My Husband would probably stay in US (or eventually come with me if the contract is really long and pays ultra well).

What does it change for the obtention of the 10 yrs GC and the citizenship down the line ?

- If I leave for a contract for about 3 months, 6 months, 1 or 2 years ??

- Is there a difference between a 2 yr GC and a 10 yr GC ?

What is your knowledge about it ?

I believe that you still have to maintain residency. If you leave for more that a year at a time on either 2yr or 10 yr greencard you abandon your US residency. That is why I will move for naturalization at the first opportunity...so I can leave...and still come back.

as far as i know that's 6 months.. you can not leave the country more than 6 months..
