We officially mailed our application yesterday, express mail of course, haha !!! dancin5hr.gif I'm so excited, and i can't wait to put more dates on my/our timeline ...I've read about people getting approval in like 58 days!! I know that is very unusual, but i hope we don't have to wait too long. This waiting time is killing me. I have been without my fiance for only a month now, but it feels like an eternity heart.gif !

Hah, get ready for a looooong wait. Some are lucky, some very much aren't. It took us a month to even get the NOA1 and then 5 months for NOA2, but things seem to be working a lot faster since Texas got involved.

I did my medical yesterday, in Gothenburg. It was 2600kr total (but should apparently be 2800) and everything is done at Kungsportsläkarna, except the x-rays which is at Carlanderska. You pay everything at once, and when they're done, you walk to Carlanderska (10 min), get the x-rays and then hand the stuff back to Kungsportsläkarna.

I called to book an appointment as soon as I got the NOA2, which I think was good, because it took 2 weeks to get one.

If you feel like one month apart is crazy difficult, then book a trip to visit. We've visited each other three times during this process and it was never a problem. Doesnt matter if you'd get an RFE or NOA2 while you're over there since you can just do all the paperwork together instead (and jump up and down of excitement!) Honestly, this becomes so much easier to deal with if you have other stuff to look forward to, like seeing your sweetie pie! :)

Hi everyone!

I just received Packet 3 and am very confused. From what I understand, there is no DS-230 anymore and it's a DS-260 online form instead - that's all fine, but the Embassy sent me copies of all forms to fill in, are these the forms they want me to fill in and return, or do they want me print them out online? One box on the printed ones only says "BARCODE" where I guess there's suppose to be an actual barcode..?

Do they want me to only return the three first pages (the checklist) and do the rest online and print out?

CEAC says I'll need both my NVC case number and NVC Invoice ID number. What the heck is that?

Hi. I just logged in to view our case status, and we had to change one of our addresses, and this is what it says: "On October 9, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance"

Ok, so i go to the website, only to see that i can put in our receipt number and check our case status, and get redirected to the same page with the same information as written above, so what further information is there???

NOA2 is on the way.. My fiancee lives in Tau, Norway, near Stavanger. Are there any approved doctors for the medical exam near there or does she have to travel to Oslo?

Check the embassy website, it will tell you there!

yeah i read 2800 totally, it's more expensive than the application itself!! lol

Well there are all the costs with the application and the adjusting status once you are in America. I wouldn't forget about that.

It has been almost 6 months in America for us now and it is going really well. The Dane is taking a writing class at a community college and working full time. He just a pay raise. Whee! We are in the middle of the final stretch of closing our house sale and hopefully it works out. Then, we will probably be off to North Dakota.

I have a friend who lives in Australia, I think he's been there for maybe two years or so, and yesterday he asked me what the pros and cons are of registering with Skatteverket (Tax Agency) as living abroad (skriven utomlands) vs. registering as still living in Sweden. Apparently, he is still skriven in Sweden as living with his parents.

When I moved here to Pittsburgh, I never even considered the possibility of not sending the papers in to Skatteverket. I just naturally assumed that doing so was the only option, the right thing to do.

So, what are the pros and cons? Thoughts? Opinions?
