What do you mean "not to return"? If it's the same guy I saw, Göran Bülow, I certainly hope he's OK. He was very nice, courteous and funny.

And good luck to you with your medical and interview, btw!good.gif I think there are panel physicians in Malmö and Göteborg, if that is of any help.

I checked with my fiance to make sure I did not misunderstand. He said that according to the office manager, Dr. Bulow will not be returning. It is very sad and sounds serious. I wish him and his family the very best.

Ah! So that's where everybody is at! We will definitely call them first thing on Monday. Thank you so much for the phone numbers. :)

How did it go today? Did you get a hold of any of the doctors?

If it like the one near us, they have a once a week or more afterschool Swedish program and then Swedish summer camp. I think you said you had a step daughter? I'm half tempted to send my daughter to the Swedish one since there is no comparable Danish save at the Seaman's Church in Brooklyn and that is a long trip.

My husband is just not speaking enough Danish at home. :(

I wish we had that kind of stuff up here! My son is seriously losing his Swedish! One year ago he didn't understand English, couldn't read write or speak it. Now he is fluent and reads and writes just as good as any American kid.

I speak with him in Swedish but he answers me in English. When he skypes with grandma its the same, he in English she in Swedish. So he still understands it but has huge issues speaking it.

Hopefully our trip to Sweden in July will bring it back.

My goal is that all 3 kids are gonna be bilingual but it looks like its gonna be hard!

Yes! We did! :) The minute we landed at the airport, we took off and went straight for the new physician's office that is taking over for Dr. Bulow. They were able to fit us in the next day (today) and directed us to where we could get our xrays. I am so thrilled that they could get us in! I didn't expect them to be able to.

We received more details today on Dr. Bulow. We were told that he had planned on retiring at the end of June or July...then something happened and he went into the hospital. It sounds like he may be ok, just went into retirement sooner than he anticipated. I really hope that is the case.

I see. Glad to hear he seems to be OK.

Hello everybody...yes, it is me again! Lol

Just curious...what happens if my fiance goes to the Interview with too much information? I think we may have overdone it with all the proof of income, etc... Do they send back what they don't need? Does he have to take everything out of the packet for them, or do they just take the whole packet? I know he may be a bit nervous and finding the documentation, if he has to go through the binder, may be hard to do when the nerves start acting up.

I read that some of you received documents back. I would like to have some of the documents, not just copies, for the i864 thst needs to be done next. Hoping I will get some of them back.

Thank you!

It's been a while since I had my interview (September 28, 2012), and I applied for a spousal visa, not a fiancé(e) visa, so I'm not a 100 % sure the process is the same, but... I brought some stuff to the interview besides the documents that I and my wife had sent in to the USCIS... and the lady who interviewed me didn't even look at the stuff I brought to the interview at the embassy. I brought (among other things) copies of pay stubs my wife had sent me since she had started a new job after the NVC had "taken over the case" from SCS, and I told the lady who interviewed me that my wife had a new job and that she was making more money than she had with the documents we had sent in to the USCIS, but the lady never asked to see the pay stubs or anything.

And I think I got all my documents and stuff back after the interview was over (in the mail with the passport with the visa). There are some originals that you want to hang on to (for me, marriage certificate, for example).

That doesn't mean your fiance shouldn't bring supplemental proof, if you have it. Don't take anything for granted, taking it for granted is probably the worst thing you can do. But don't get too nervous either. If you have a straight forward case with no red flags, I'd dare say the Stockholm embassy is definitely a friendly one. Stockholm isn't Lagos.

This is really nice to know, thank you very much. We feel better knowing that it will be easier having more, rather than less. I think we did prepare everything like it was for the 864 form rather than the other. It is very easy to get a bit nervous and nice to know Stockholm is a nice Embassy to go through. I am sure after the interview Thursday we will have a huge sigh of relief, along with some cocktails, if the news is good :)

Thank you for the info and for easing our minds!

No problemo.

I got plenty worked up before my interview. I really felt like the outcome of the interview would have great impact on the rest of my life, and accordingly, I was very nervous. When I was on the bus back from the embassy to downtown Stockholm, I thought to myself "that was it? That was nothing to get worked up over!"

That said, my thinking was "hope for the best and prepare for the worst" and I would rather look at it that way than to think the interview is going to be a walk in the park. You won't get your visa unless you pass the interview, so it is important. But you know what I'm saying, right?

Yeah, it was fun on Sunday and weird hearing so much Danish spoken again and to me. I think I was the only American wife? That was kind of weird. They have a get together for the Danish mothers where the kids can speak Danish, but American wives are not invited (which I totally get because I can't really keep up with a conversation in Danish).

I wish we had that kind of stuff up here! My son is seriously losing his Swedish! One year ago he didn't understand English, couldn't read write or speak it. Now he is fluent and reads and writes just as good as any American kid.

Hopefully our trip to Sweden in July will bring it back.
My goal is that all 3 kids are gonna be bilingual but it looks like its gonna be hard!

My daughter was speaking some Danish and answering in Danish, but then we move here and both she and my Danish husband answer questions in English?!?!?

I can't find a Danish proxy fast enough to stream video, because getting Danish Netflix back would help a ton! I'm not terribly worried about my daughter's Danish, but if our future kids can't speak fluent Danish, they can't keep their citizenship.

I don't know where you live in Alaska, but is it a possibility to find other Swedish speaking children?

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

I live in anchorage and there is a group of Norwegians getting together for different Nordic occasions. There is the odd Swede there too so we gave it a try once but the people were all older, much older then me and no kids.

There are so many people up here that one way or another have a connection to Scandinavia but they don't speak the language!

I'm not worried that he will stop understanding it cause he watches a lot of swedish movies and kids shows on the computer but the speaking it worries me.

When u get to the embassy make sure u stand in the correct line. There will most likely be two lines, the one u want is closest to the fence and will be short. The other one is for people applying for student visa etc. Sometimes there is only one line, and that is the long one, and that means u will be first in line of the other one.
