It wasn't me asking about proving domicile ... that was the poster above me, the one doing a CR-1. I agree, K-1 not involved in that, but hopefully someone has some answers for the original asker.

Do CR-1 people have to do the same medical exam as K-1 people? Would love to hear experiences about vaccination records, etc. with Drs Helle or Borgstrom, since my fiance only has his neuvolakortti ... the tiny village where he was born is no longer in existence, and the terveyskeskus/health center says they have no computer records of his childhood vaccines. So he's relying only on the paper that his mom had from 30 years ago, dunno if that's going to be a problem!

I'm actually in the US right now visiting my fiance, and I have my medical booked (Borgström) for when I go back to Finland at the end of the month. So yeah, I'll hopefully have some embassy stories soon.

Btw, you were asking about proving domicile, that really shouldn't be an issue if your fiancé lives in the US. I believe that is more for Americans who have been living abroad.

And even then, unless you live in Canada or Italy, it is sort of a non-issue and fairly easy to do.

We're on the IR-1 path and husband and I both currently live in Finland.

But to answer your question, it doesn't really vary depending on where what embassy you go through.

Me I just booked our tickets to Sweden yesterday. We will be arriving in Sweden on the same date as we left last year, July 12th. I can't wait to see everyone again, didn't realize how much I missed them until i started the countdown to go home for a visit!

Woohoo! We kicked some butts in the hockey today. Is there anyone in here who has been watching vm, maybe on the internet? I haven't been able to find it. Would be nice to see the final game even though its against Switzerland

I know you can watch 4-hours delayed ANYTHING on Finnish TV broadcast, at http://www.tvkaista.fi/ -- my fiance and I use it a lot, but it isn't real time. They have been promoting the ice hockey stuff, but neither of us watches that, so I'm not sure if they've lessened the 4-hour delay for that or not. (It is not free, but I think they have a one-month free promo maybe?)

TVkaista rocks! We actually gave up cable here entirely and only watch tvkaista. It is always delayed though, I don't think there's any workaround for that. They do have a 2-week (at least, if not a full month) free trial.
