A weird question about the K1 paperwork...it says that you need a "personbevis" listing civil status and residence in Sweden. Is there a Danish equivalent of that? Is it a requirement for the CR1 as well? Can we just disregard it?

It's a mistake. I see they're is still mixing up Danish and Norwegian folks going through Stockholm. Jay Jay and I both had the same issue at NVC back in September. They were asking for Swedish passport and birth certificates. Apparently funneling three countries through one embassy is too challenging for the system

Since you're not going through the K-1 anymore you can disregard. But be prepared to call NVC if they ask for it after you send in your husband's IV paperwork.

I hope that gets fixed by Spring.

I am rather disheartened with our (supposedly cancelled) K1 packet they sent out today from Stockholm. Even though I've looked at the I-129F application over, it appears someone in Stockholm is very very bad at spelling. His first and last name are both handwritten and spelled wrong (Bjorne instead of Bjarne) and 2 letters in the last name are wrong. Also our street address is spelled incorrectly and they left off the apartment number. Seriously? I'm pretty sure it is by some miracle it actually got delivered because we've also since moved from that apartment bloc! I suppose the mailman figured all the American mail comes here anyways.....

They did that in the paper that came with the Do Not Open package and my passport/visa. There was like a summary page or whatever in the package (that I put the stamps on). They'd spelled my wife's last name wrong. Added a random R in there.

Oh dear. I thought they had fixed this by now.. I was first asked to prove I was a citizen of Sierra Leone. Called the NVC and politely explained to them that I was interviewing in Sweden and that I was Norwegian, and that I had never even been to Africa in my life. After a 2 week "supervisor review" I was asked to prove that I was a Swedish citizen. I called the NVC and politely explained to them that as of 2012, Norwegians and Danes interview in Sweden as well. After another week long "supervisor review" I finally got a "case complete" and an interview date. Cost my wife and I 3 weeks.

Hopefully this issue is resolved before your I-130 reaches the NVC.

They did actually manage to send the Danish medical forms. I know they probably had some cost saving reasons behind this, but if the people in the Swedish Embassy are having trouble even understanding Danish addresses, perhaps it is time to send it back to Denmark.

Do you think they even send a country specific Denmark checklist, because this one said at the top noted that the embassy was processing the ones for Norway, Sweden, and Denmark?

They actually spelled the last name wrong on both the inside and outside. It is a fairly common last name - one that indicates a placement of a farm and I even made sure to spell it everywhere with the "aa" instead of å.

With 3 weeks for that and maybe 3 weeks to get the passport back things are not looking good. Let's just hope things move along expediently and the gods take pity on my poor soul and let me venture back and start on homesteading.

I did send them an e-mail this morning politely explaining that the letters at the end are critically important to include in the address and explained what they meant. I also informed them of all of the spelling errors. Maybe they'll get it right next time? :help: They did actually respond back to my e-mail about sending back the I-129F in about an hour. :wow:

I'll be looking forward to seeing the progress of the NVC and embassy when it's your turn.

My case spent 4 weeks in transit between CSC and NVC, 3 months at the NVC and Tuesday will be week 4 since my interview..

That's double the normal in 3 out of 3.

You've got me totally scared now about how long it was going to take. Stupid me had thought, even after filing the K1, that there was still DCF in Denmark and then I thought we would get expedited because we were both living abroad. Nope.

My mother in law actually made us make our own tonight with clay, a container, and some pine branches. She couldn't believe we didn't have them in America! We're not Christian, but it is fun to do none the less.

We actually had a wooden one in our house in America with the 4 holes, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen a metal cast one.

Ostepop! They're amazing, except they leave very annoying orange residue everywhere. I'm more partial to melkesjokolade, but firkløver does the trick too lol.

Since DCF is no longer available in most countries, the service centers tend to expedite cases like yours. It's no guarantee, but it is fully possible that you'll have an NOA2 before Christmas!

Not only buying tampons for your wife, but from Norway. It must be true love!

I'm actually going to Ikea outside of Pittsburgh today. Hope I can find adventslys there. I'm certainly picking up pepperkakedeig (I can't make my own /shame) and some Christmas decorations. :)

One of my husband's friends on Facebook posted a photo of her Christmas tree, and I'm apalled. You can't even see the tree under all the lights and massive decorations and red ribbons running diagonally around it. I like our little, Norwegian style tree. :) Got my Christmas ribs in the freezer (thank goodness for Willy's), and hoping to find a julestjerne for the window at Ikea as well.

Married since 03/02/2011, AOS from F-1 visa, green card granted 05/24/2011.
Blessed with a healthy baby boy, 08/19/2011! We get to keep our family together! Thank you! smile.png

Thank you!

Mission accomplished, saffron bought!

We are doing a Swedish jul on the 24th and the kids will open their gifts from the family back home on Skype so that grandma and everyone can see them do that!

Then on the 25th we do an American one and we all open up gifts!

Fingers crossed you get your passport soon so you can be with your wife on Xmas!
