My wife called the NVC a while ago and was told our case was completed and forwarded to the embassy in Stockholm. The priority date is July 2nd. I still haven't heard anything from the embassy. Should I try to get in touch with them? Should my wife call the NVC? Or do I simply wait? How will they contact me, e-mail? This waiting is getting on my nerves. :(

You can call DOS but I would definitely contact the Stockholm embassy by email. Put your case number in the subject field. They have been very helpful to me, always answered my emails in 1-2 business days.

When I was in touch with the embassy in early june they did tell me that during summer things slow down a lot. Semestertider you know, and apparently they don't care much for vikarier! So I was told that thigs does take a lot longer during the summer... With that said, they still will answer your email pretty fast, they have a policy that you will always hear from them within 3 working days.

It was a very pleasant experience! My visa is approved :) I just wrote a review.

But yeah, they looked really busy with the non-immigrant visa applicants for sure. The place was packed, although everything was handled very professionally and efficiently.

I read your great review! It helps the nervous feeling I have to read all the details, so thankful for that.

I'm afraid I will break down and cry when they tell me I'm approved!! This process is so emotional....

My son turns 7 in a few weeks and my daughter will be 3 months in a week :)

How is your son doing? I have a ten year old, I hope everything will be ok. I was hoping to be in the US before school starts in September, yeah right...

Now I'm hoping to be there before christmas.

He is starting to look forward to a lot of things, but of course very sad to leave all his friends. I feel so excited and at the same time it breaks my heart to take him "away" from all his friends and family...But he is being a great sport! Also considering that we have been waiting for so long for some news, I can't really say exactly when we leave...

I know this will be a great learning experience (for both of us) and that he will make new friends, but it's still hard...
