Interview done today. Really easy, took about 50 mins in the embassy, most of that time was waiting. They'll mail my visa within a week. They didn't look any of the evidence.

Congratulations!!

Congratulations Juha Pekka! Sounds like K-1 interviews are always easy in Finland. ;) When my husband (then fiance) was interviewed, he was only asked four questions and was approved right away. They didn't look at any of our evidence either.

I had a little too much time to play with the DHL tracking innocent.gif

NVC said my case was sent out July 5th and today I just got an e-mail from IV unit stockholm embassy, they have my case and will send instructions package this week.

You should get your instructions package very soon.good.gif

My wedding day - the best day of my life

So who here can answer this..

My wife is coming to Greece with me and my family in 2 weeks and 6 days (damn right I'm counting down lol). I already quit my job as I expected to have the interview by beginning of August at the latest. However, now it's looking more like late August/early September. We're staying in Greece for 2 weeks, after that she HAS to go back home for work.

We simply cannot take another airport goodbye session. It's too much. We barely even talk on the phone anymore because it hurts too much, especially on her end. This Greece trip was supposed to be "the beginning of our lives together" but Now I'm looking at maybe another 1 month wait before having the visa in hand after Greece.

So. The plan is now that after Greece, I come back with her, and stay in the US til the day before my interview. I fly home, go to the interview and pick up my visa at the embassy ASAP, then fly back. I'm pretty sure we can do a week apart "in between." So barring any unforseen circumstances, how long does it take from the interview, until you can actually pick up the visa in person? I know most people receive it in the mail after a week or so..

I cannot answer your question I'm afraid. It seems it takes about a week to get it in the mail, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

We simply cannot take another airport goodbye session. It's too much. We barely even talk on the phone anymore because it hurts too much, especially on her end.

I know how you feel. The heartbreaking pain you feel when you have to say goodbye is greater than the joy of being together for, say, a couple of weeks. My wife and I decided early on that we would not see each other in person until all of this is finished.

We do often talk on Skype thouh - almost every day now that I'm done at my job.
