Thank you for this info. Will pass on to her.

Also, is there an expiration date on packet 3? We can't schedule any interview yet until my fiancé gets the NBI clearance from the Philippines and it could take a few weeks.

I apologize for the off topic, however, my fiancée is in the process of getting her Personbevis but don't know what to put under the reason of getting one. Although she already has her personal ID and she insisted that's her Personbevis, but I told her it's not. Anyway, she will just go ahead and apply online, but don't know what to put under the reason as there's no "immigration or travelling to US" option.

Thank you so much for your time

I just called Skatteverket and told them that I needed everything they had on me for a visa to USA and they knew exactly what I meant and I had it in the mailbox one day later. I even got two copies, all pages signed and stamped. Very good service. :)

Her i-129f is valid for four months from when it was approved but the embassy can extend it. Not sure if they do it automatically or not. I think all-in-all your approval is valid for 1 year, if extended every 4 months.

If anyone in here did their medical in Göteborg, do you know how long it took for the embassy to receive the results? Maybe it's not even possible to know exactly when the embassy received it.

I'm only asking because there won't be two weeks between my medical and interview, only one week. It's not that big of a deal if the embassy doesn't have the papers by time of the interview, they'll get there eventually. I'm just curious. :)

Yup, they will extend in 4-month increments up to a year. It's pretty much automatic at the consulate in Sweden. I contacted them before my interview about it, and they told me to bring an updated letter of intent from my fiancé + three sworn affidavits from family/friends. At the interview, they didn't even ask for it... I had brought a bunch of recent evidence of ongoing relationship though.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Good hopefully they will stamp and sign it too. Some do and some don't. That's why I prefer to go to the office because then I can ask for a stamp and signature. Don't think it's really needed but it looks more formal. And if you say you want it for a visa application that's usually what they do.

I had my medical done in Gothenburg and if I remember correctly it took just about 2 and a half weeks to arrive at the embassy, my interview was three weeks after my medical and they told me they received it a few days before my interview.

It takes them about 1 week to get the blood test results back and then they sign off on the medical and mail it to Stockholm.

EDIT: I never received a copy of my medical in the mail and the lady at the embassy was kind enough to make a copy for me, so if you don't have a copy by the time your interview comes around you might want to make sure you are given a copy as I was.

Yeah I can imagine the blood tests takes a while to check and so on. Thank you, then I know I'll have to wait for maybe two weeks after the interview to know if it was approved or not.

Does anyone know if the embassy does security checks before or after the interview? I assume afterwards, they do it when you're in "AP", right? Are you usually in AP for long or just a day or two? I do realize it might be very different from person to person.
