Oh that's great! Thank you so much, I'll hold on to the STK number only then.

Thank you, linafinn! It seems to take about 30 days to get the case number, you'll have yours soon too!

Congratulations, Lenhey! I hope it's fixed easily.

Congrats everyone for your approvals and all the progress you've made :)

I had my interview at the embassy on the 14th of July and I got approved. Apart from all the endless waiting it was a breeze. Unfortunately I won't be getting the visa until I receive and send in a waiver for the 2-year home residency rule that my last J1-visa imposed on me. The waiver is handed out by the USCIS so who knows how long it could take.

I also have to get a tetanus shot according to the test results that came back. That adds another 350 SEK or so to my medical exam bill for a total of 5500 SEK. Yikes! I'm glad I get to keep my job and work pretty much up until it's time for me to pack and leave.

February 15th: Submitted I-129f.

February 19th: Electronic NOA1

February 23rd: Hardcopy NOA1

April 22nd: RFE

April 23rd: Submitted RFE response

April 28th: RFE received by USCIS

May 19th: Approved. Electronic NOA2

May 24th: Hardcopy NOA2

June 8th: NVC receive case

June 10th: NVC assign case number

June 17th: E-mail from US embassy in Stockholm

June 20th: Discover that J1 visa 2-year home residency rule not fulfilled. Filing for waiver of the 2-year rule.

June 30th: Sent documents for 2-year rule waiver to the Waiver Review Division at the Department of State.

June 30th: Sent documents to Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C. for No Objection Statement regarding 2-year rule.

July 6th: Medical examination in Stockholm.

---> July 14th: Interview at the US Embassy in Stockholm. Approved. Waiver for 2-year rule required before visa can be handed out.

Wow, that's more than my whole car is worth. Probably says more about my car than anything else though.. :D Congratulations to the approval! When anything is in the hands of USCIS you never know when things will happen, but I'm holding my thumbs that it'll go fast.

I only have two more questions regarding the DS-160 and then I'm done.

It says "has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf?", is that a yes then for the i-129f petition? I've never had anyone file anything for me prior to this K-1 here. But then again, the i-129f isn't an immigrant petition?

And what is the "organization name of US citizen"? Is it okay to just put "do not know" on that one?

I don't remember what I answered for question one but for the organization one you can say N/A. The DS-160 is used for several visa's so not all questions will be relevant.

Yeah it might be for work visa and they need a name/number for the company or something. I did put "do not know" as that was the only option I could choose from.

For the question about immigrant petition on my behalf I'll just put "no" as this petition isn't an immigrant one and no one has ever filed an immigrant petition for me before. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Even the photo was uploaded perfectly on the first try, so happy things are going smooth for once. DS-160 is all done and ready to be submitted, can I do it now or do I wait until my case reaches the embassy?

Hi! My fiance just recieved the NoA2 by mail (we got the email about it 2 weeks ago though but paper letter always takes a bit longer to get) and it said that the case is being forwarded to the consulate in Stockholm with no mention of NVC. Does it say that on all NoA2's? I'm just asking just to make sure since it's supposed to go to the NVC first and then sent to the consulate...

Some NOA2s say that it goes to NVC and some say that it goes to the consulate, nobody seems to know why it differs. It doesn't matter what it says though, all K-1s go to NVC and then to the embassy from there. So it's all alright.

Ours said NVC btw, not consulate. It's so odd how not all say the same. Good feeling to have the NOA2 in hand now at least, you'll need it later on. :dancing:
