Does the USC get them in the mail from NVC or do I? I don't trust him to tell me anything regarding this process.

How do I call USCIS on Skype? Just the regular number that you'd call from the US? How much does it cost?

With the risk of sounding rude... You don't trust him but you want to marry him?

Yes you would just call the regular. Don't know how much it costs. I'm sure it says on their website.

I know, it's not good. I'm very confused right now, it's so hard to do this alone, from anywhere.

If I were you I'd focus on your relationship more than your application. What's the point of going through the process if it's not going to work out in the end?

Yes, you're right. Both of us need to be in on this for it to work anyway, just like the relationship. We'll see if we can figure this out.

Oh honey,.. if you're not in this together, if he's not willing to commit and support you through this process..how can you expect him to stand beside you and support you later? You need to figure out if he's worth giving up everything for. Make sure it's a healthy relationship before you go move across the world for him. (this coming from someone with a few relationship experiences and probably older than most of you that are in here... )

Sorry if I come off as rude or harsh.. but I just want you to be careful and be sure you make the right decision. Take care, and good luck!!!!!

Trust is one of the most important things in a relationship. You have to figure out if he is worth uprooting your whole life for. He is the one who petitioned for you, he should be helping you out.

I did a search here on VJ and it seems that USCIS are only supposed to give out information to the petitioner. So if you call they might just tell you that your fiance needs to call since his name is on the petition.

And if you just want to check on your case you might as well just check it online because USCIS won't tell you much more than that. If they do they're just saying things that they don't know what they're talking about anyway. They can't see more than we can do online. It's just a call center.

If you have a smart phone,..which I suppose most people have these days, you can download the USCIS case tracker app. Then, you'll know immediately if there's any changes or updates done to your case. I found the app very useful. I did in fact call the USCIS asking for and update when we got RFE, but they could not answer anything. Not because I wasn't the petitioner,.. I had all the information they asked for, but simply because it is just a call center and they don't have updates on the cases. You might have to ask for a supervisor then.. and they might not reply since you're not the petitioner. Our cases are different since we're CR1 applicants..

I have a question, is it that you really don't trust him or that you have control issues and he isn't doing it in the manner in which you feel he should? I ask this because I know how hard it is to give up control as I struggle with that myself but you have to be willing to let go a bit and let your partner do things their way....(this is soooooooo difficult to do sometimes but it is a good thing to learn to do) Communication is key in this.

Does anybody know a cheap way to send a couple of boxes (20kg) from Sweden to the USA?

I'm not planning on taking a lot of stuff with me when I move but some stuff I just can't throw away, I've checked websites like fedEX and UPS but just to send these small boxes is like 4000 sek...which seems insane!

Any tips?

You call them and they will give you an estimate. I didn't end up using them because they straight up told me that I had such a small amount that it would be a waste of money for me to ship it with them. It seems like if you are moving they will try to ship the boxes on the same flight you're flying on if possible.

Unfortunately I've been left alone with this process, I get no help from my fiancé. How do I call USCIS (and later on NVC) from Sweden?

I know how tough and stressful it is to have to do all the papers and fees all by yourself. :( In our case though, my husband had a very good reason for not being able to help with it, but at least he was there for moral support and encouragement. How come your fiancé is not helping with the process? He had to have done the petition, right?!

When it comes to USCIS, they will only give information to the petitioner, so you can't call them. If you have to contact USCIS, your fiancé have to do it. All written communication from USCIS will be sent to the petitioner only. Once you hit NVC, both of you will get the communication.

I used Travel Cargo and ended up with so much broken stuff. If you use them, don't let them send your things with Norwegian. Somehow the "geniuses" at Norwegian decided to put the small boxes marked fragile at the bottom with the heavy boxes on top...

I think I'm going to try and get it as excess luggage on the plane, seems to be cheaper (shockingly haha)

That's what I ended up doing. Did it eitg Icelandair who claimed on their website it would cost $100 but I ended up paying way less than that.
