Hello!

Happy to say we finally got our case number from NVC! So happy! :dancing: Does this mean I can go ahead and book the medical now? I don´t need to wait for the embassy letter right? Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone,

We are about to start the VISA process, and are filing out the I-129F for Niels (Denmark) to come to the US.

And we have a few questions:

Where to send it:

Does it always have to be: Lewisville, TX

Or can you choose another one?

How many copies:

Do you only send in 1 copy to he USCIS?

Which forms:

We are curious as to which forms to use beside of the I-129F.

We have used the cover letter example from this site, is that what everyone else do as well?

Here is our list:

Application fee - $340

Form G-1145 (Notification form)

Form I-129F

Form I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person

Evidence of my US citizenship

Final divorce papers

Form G-325A and photograph of the petitioner

Form G-325A and photograph of the beneficiary

Form FC-029 (Authenticity of pictures and documents)

Proof of having met in person within last 2 years

Proof of ongoing relationship

Letters of intent to marry, petitioner and beneficiary

And then adding pictures, chat screenshots, birthday cards, hotel receipt, passport stamp, website link+screenshot, etc.

Costs:

One question we have been wondering is how much all of this will end of costing?

including the medical. What are you experiences with the price?

Vaccinations / Medical:

Any ideas as to if Niels should be getting any before the medical?

And any tips for the medical?

Embassy:

Any tips for the interview?

We are sorry to have so many questions, we are excited and nervous all at once here :D

Thank you in advance :-)

and have a wonderful day.

Kind regards,

Niels and Kandie

Yes you have to send it to the lockbox in Texas and then it will be sent to the proper service center. I believe they're still sending all applications to California.

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

For USPS Express Mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS

Attn: I-129F

2501 South State Highway 121 Business

Suite 400

Lewisville, TX 75067

You do not need to send in the FC-029, it's ancient and obsolete. The filing fee is $340. I will let the Danes tell you the price of the medical :) And then it also depends on if Niels will need any vaccinations. If he has had all school vaccinations and have gotten the tetanus shot within the last 10 years he should be all set. I had to get the tetanus shot because it had been over 10 years since the last one. I think that is the most common one.

Any tips for the medical? Just relax, it's not as bad as it sounds. Don't read horror stories on VJ about having to take all your clothes of to check your private areas, doctors in Scandinavia don't do that part.

For the interview, remember to breathe. I was so nervous I felt like I was about to pass out but it went fine. Always tell the truth, don't offer more information than they ask for or you'll get follow up questions.

Thank you so much :-)

yes i had all the usual vaccinations as far as i know (better ask my dad), and i had a tetanus last summer before visiting the US ;)

Pheew i am glad that the medical is not that bad :D TY ;)

And i am sure i will be super nervous at the embassy! our future together depends on it, so there is some pressure there!

but i will remember to breathe ;) thanks ;)

I have removed the FC-029, i was not sure about that one, so thank you for clearing that up :-)

And is it only 1 copy you need to send in to Texas? :-)

We will make 3 total, one for each of us and one to send in.

Thank you again :-)

Yes you only need to send them one. And it's awesome that both of you have a copy each! That's what we did too. And I always brought mine when I visited Seve in case I would get questions but never had to show it. Very good to have though. Sometimes, thankfully it's very rare, USCIS loses documents so backups are always good.

During the medical they will ask you if you ever had chickenpox. If you have you don't have to prove it, you just say you did. Otherwise you have to be vaccinated against that as well.

Here is the price of the medical in Denmark:

http://www.medicaloffice.dk/services/immigration-usa/immigration-usa

You don't have to wait for your case number like most people to get the medical BUT you should wait till you have your NOA2 at least because your visa will only be good 6 months from the medical not the interview! SO if you do not want to leave right after interview then wait on the medical.

It was a lady there did ours and she was very nice and it was very quick and easy. You need to prove that you have had all the vaccinations, so find your old yellow card from when you were little.

We had all from I was a child and he had gotten all his already and therefore we did not need any vaccines like said above.

Also you don't need copies of your package unless you just want to see what you put in.

Hmm i will see if i can find the cards, maybe my dad has them, but not sure..

Otherwise i guess i will have to redo them :-/

And thank you so much for that link, awesome :D

yes we thought it might be a good idea to have one copy each as well, just so we can both look and see if there is anything, and we are assembling it all online, so we can both print new copies if we need to ;)

Kindly

You can go to a doctor and get a blood test so they can see which you have had IF you can't find it. They do look at it so it is best you have it with you.

Sounds complicated ;) But if it works for you guys then it's good :)

Can see you are from Jutland the medical and x-ray can only be done in CPH just so you know.

I don't know how it works in Denmark but here in Sweden you can just call the local "journalarkiv" to get copies of all the papers from your previous vaccinations in case you don't have them still, they're all stored in the archive (depending on your age maybe) no matter if you got them in school or at a clinic. That way it's easy to prove you actually got the vaccinations, otherwise they'll have to draw some blood and analyse it to see if you actually have them or not, which maybe takes a little extra time (not sure).

Ahh okay :-)

I might just do that and get a full card to show.

Nah not so complicated, google docs + Dropbox goes a long way :D

But We do need to print everything in Denmark, sign it, and send it to the US and sign it here and then send the package. As Niels needs to sign one of the G-325A and the personal statements.

But we only need one with all signutes to send in, the rest is just for our own use. ;)

Ahh yes, i saw that, there is only one place in denmark where you can do the medical for visa, so i will have to make a little trip over there ;)

And then a long trip to Stockholm! thats going to cost more than the medical it seems with trip and hotel etc.

Thank you for your help :-)

That definitely cleared up some things i need to do ;)

Kindly,

Niels And Kandie

yeah i googled it a bit, and you can see it online, but only AFTER 1996.. and i am from 1983, so that would have been before i think, but i will check there first just to be sure :-)

Thank you :)

The personal statement you mean the letter of intent to marry right?

Yes it's the same thing here, you can only see the journals online from the mid 90s sometime as that's when it became electronic. But the journal archive had all the paper copies from way back, so that's good at least. I hope you can find them that way in Denmark too, makes it a little easier. :)

Yes i do,

I assume it is just a personal letter like this (one from each of us)

Please let me know if this is what they need or if i misunderstood it?

============================================

I Niels <lastname>, fully intend to marry Kandie <lastname> upon arriving to the US on the K1 VISA.

We have talked about it for so long, and it can not come soon enough, for our lives and our adventure to begin together, I love Kandie....... <more personal stuff here>

Signature here...

-----------------------------------------------------

Niels <lastname>

Also does the 1800 kr include the x-ray/scans? :-)

That's how we did it too. We had both paper copies and then we had everything on Google Docs so we could share it and print what was needed. :)
