Not only for men. Regardless of your gender, if you have served then you need to bring in these documents, if not then you don't bring anything.

Again, that is not the case for men in Denmark. There is additional paperwork required sometimes in case you have not served as well.

I understand :) Try and call when it's late there time then they have had the day to get it/enter it.

They send it to Stockholm only a few days after so it's goes quick from now on. (Except the wait time for interview)

Hey guys, quick question. I have my interview for K1 on May 19th. I'm from the UK and living in Sweden, so the UK has no mandatory military service so I'm assuming I don't need to bring any kind of documentation for this.

Also in the email I received it says that I need to bring my birth certificate and that it should contain my parents names, places of birth and also date of birth. I have the full version of my birth certificate and British birth certificates do not have parents birth dates on them.

Do you think this will be a problem?

Thanks!

Don't know about the military papers guess it depends how they do it in UK.

Our birth certificates also only have the names of parents not the birthplace or date of birth.

Well just keep checking the booking site. Hopefully if someone cancel you´ll be able to catch it. You got everything ready for the interview?

Yeah I´m really starting to get anxious to move and be together, we are really getting done with this distance thing. I´m hoping to be able to move in late july but there is a lot here in Sweden to take care of first so an interview date would really help the planning. How about you? When do you plan to make the big move?

I look twice a day to see what dates are available :D

Oh and yes I have everything ready for the interview :)

We are planning on moving late June then my boy will almost be done with school here and we'll have time to settle and get all the stuff done before he starts school on August 8th :)

But heard it take 2-3 weeks to get the visa from the interview so we'll see, hopefully :)

There is a special case in Denmark for those called up, but who did not serve in the military. It applied to our case, so I share in case it applies to anyone else.

If you were called up for a medical exam for military service, but not drafted, then the following applies:

"Not Drafted or Unfit for Service

Persons who have attended a medical examination (Session) required by the Danish military, but who have not been drafted for service (or ever worked for the Danish military or the Danish Emergency Management Agency), or who have been found unfit for service, must obtain a "Certification (Draft Board)". Please see contact information below.

The certificate will state whether the person was simply "not drafted", or if found "unfit for service", it will give a brief explanation of the reason."

Well fingers crossed for you! Even with the date you have (26/5) a late june move is not impossible as long as the issuing of the visa doesnt take too long and you can find a good flight!

I was not.

Found a Dane who just went through the interview last month and she didn't bring anything.

So yes if not drafted then nothing is needed.

Thanks for helping me out! ... :)
