Checked our case a couple of hours ago, and it was updated with RFE. Tried to call to know what's missing, but they were closed for today. Try again tomorrow. At least we know they've been working on our petition then Progress.

They won't tell you over phone you have to wait for the hard copy to arrive.

Ahh..oh,.. well, that's annoying. Was my husbands friend that told me to, he was going through the same process bringing his husband from Germany a couple of years ago. All he said was, now is the time to start calling.. Have you tried calling to get information about what documents they are missing?

No, I'm a K-1/K-2 though. Here they don't tell over the phone but about a week from the RFE notice you'll get a letter with the RFE. I don't think it's different for CR-1/IR-1?

But no I'm on day 37 of waiting for NOA2 so still have a bit of waiting before I hear anything.

Oh... ok, thanks. We're are IR-1/CR-1 applicants and already 121 days into the waiting "game". Hopefully I'll be able to move sometime this fall. Expecting total processing to be at least 300 days.

Have all of you who needed translation only used kammerkollegiet.se?? I asked the embassy at one time at they gave me the link to those but the there is no one on there who does Danish to English so really don't see the point?

So went to the Social Security Office this morning and was easy peasy, everything went smoothly and everything was in the system so we should be getting his social security card here within 10-14 days. Another stepping stone down.

Hallelujah!!!!!! After 3 months of headbutting the dep.of state finally accepted my son's birth certificate as proof that I have sole custody and he got his US passport!!! They sure make you work for things in this country that's for sure!! It would have totally sucked if they would have denied him! He wouldn't have been able to travel internationally until he would have been old enough to apply on his own! This was a huge sigh of relief! Finally this immigration circus is over for good!

I noticed when I applied for my daughter's last month that they changed the instructions for it. The last one 5 years ago, it said you could just send a birth certificate with one parent listed, so I did that and they sent me the passport. This time it didn't list that as an option as far as I could see, so I sent custody paperwork.

I can see why it might have changed, I have an old birth certificate that has just me listed as a parent, but since I did the custody paperwork and established paternity the birth certificate has been amended to list my first husband.

Can Swedish birth certificates be amended?

Sweden don't really do custody paperwork, unless you have severe issues and have to take it to court. But if you are unmarried the mother automatically get custody in sweden and I was never married. The birth certificate will list both parents but on one line it lists the parent who is the guardian. At first they didn't accept it and wanted a court order or such and I tried to get the tax agency in Sweden to write something or print something else but they refused. According to them that was all that was needed. So going back and forth with the passport people for so long they finally gave in!

No swedish birth certificate can't be amended....well I guess they can if you were to put down father unknown and then you figure out who it is or such. But I've never hear of it.

i am wife of green card holder.I have received my visa last week with an envelope which should not be opened. I paid the 165$ fee for USCIS as well. in the letter says I can check the status of my green card at USCIS website. But after payment no receipt number has been assigned to me, I only have tracking number. has anybody same experience of this?

When you paid the green card fee online, you got to a confirmation page that said "congratulations you successfully submitted an immigrant fee payment". You were supposed to print or save that confirmation page, as it had your UCSIS receipt number for the payment. It says on it that that's the only receipt you get, so I don't think you can get the receipt number elsewhere. Doubt you need it for anything though, unless you really wanna track your green card. Says it takes about 60 days to get the green card from the time you enter the US (or pay the green card fee if you pay it after POE).

So when are you moving over? I have two weeks left in Sweden now. Time is moving so fast, there are not enough hours in the day to finish everything up.

Thank you!! I'm moving on April 3, so two more weeks here. I have a little bit less to finish up though since I've been back home with my parents a couple or months now to kind of make up for the time I will be spending far far away Pretty much only have to work my final days and pack my bags.
