Just booked my flight to Texas and finalized all the details with Travel Cargo. This move is getting real. :D

So those of you who couldn't go on your husband/wife's medical insurance, how did you solve the medical insurance issue before getting a job? Is it possible to get it on a monthly basis? Was reading on some different websites and policies and WOW, getting medical insurance is really daunting. Not really liking the idea of having to sign up for a full year of medical insurance, when I know I'll get cover once I have a job.

Yes, there are visitor insurances and insurances that are specifically for K1's before they can get on a proper insurance. I bought mine from insu b u y .com (visa hate when people write that website and removes the link, but it's one word :P ) I had mine for a few months.

I can´t remember if this has been up.

How long do you on avg. wait for the packet and passport after Issued comes up in CEAC?

It states it on the CEAC popup that shows issued. on our it stated "If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application."

We got ours within 6 days but I don't know if there is a different timeframe for IR/CR's vs K1.

It states it on the CEAC popup that shows issued. on our it stated "If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application."

We got ours within 6 days but I don't know if there is a different timeframe for IR/CR's vs K1.

Mine just says:

Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted.

I realised I didn't join this forum (thanks for the ping, @SoerenHelmer)! I'm in the facebook group, but with everything up in the air I completely forgot about this one.

We are currently in the process of sending stuff into NVC - we paid the IV fee on Friday so the DS-260 will hopefully open Monday or Tuesday. Around that time the packet with all my parents-in-law's documents (joint sponsor stuff, my husband's tax transcripts) should also be arriving so we can send it all off. Though of course we are off travelling Monday-Thursday, so we won't be able to send it off the moment it arrives! As I said in the NVC forum, we are now figuring out the domicile aspect. UGH so many things. We currently have my husband's TX drivers license, bank + credit card statements, voters registration, a letter of intent for moving and I'm drafting a letter for his parents to sign that we will live with them when we move there. Surely it must be OK if they sign it and scan it and we print it off here? I don't really want to wait around for yet another letter being sent, in transit, delivered. (Of course we'd get them to send the original so I'll have it for the interview.)

If you put his parents' address on there it shouldn't be a problem. That's what we did. What is the Facebook group, by the way?
