Also, my fiancée is Filipina living in Stockholm, does she need certificate of freedom to marry? And if so where would she get that or the letter of intent will suffice?

I will order one online asking if they'll put in date of birth and place in addition to the name, so hopefully I'll have it within a week. In addition i asked another norwegian that just got approved for the k1 visa what kind she had to bring, so we'll see

Quick question- my company will write my letter of employment, but say they cannot put my salary in the letter. So they will just write I started on this date and am currently employed in good standing. Will this cause an issue with my affidavit of support? I have pay stubs/tax returns proving I work for them and make enough money.

I asked if one was needed since we can't get one at all and most said they didn't even have to show theirs

If its in a letter have it with you if not, do the best version of it you can and have it as a backup.

Remember show ALL the papers they ask for also the one from a checklist even if they don't ask you at the interview.

I just got "issued" but also a email with a paper that was "missing" one i had to bring and i did, but was never asked for it.

Quick question, where do you get your photos taken to get the exact US passport size dimension in Stockholm?

The one at the train station only does 50 x 50 when the specifications says 51 x 51. Is there any studio in Stockholm that do the right size?

I took my photos at the airport(Arlanda). They had a photo booth there, and that was no problem for the interview. I actually just arrived in the US and will write my poe experience in a longer post when I have time. I hope everyone hangs in there, because it is amazing to finally be done! Our visa journey lasted 14 months.....

Lezzyme1979: You asked if your fiancé needed a certificate of freedom to marry. In Sweden we don't have such a thing...if your fiancé is doing it through the embassy in Stockholm she shouldn't need any. Only provide any divorce papers if she ever was married.

Isn't "hindersprövning" just that? If so, then yes we do have that in Sweden. Don't think it's needed for the interview though.

Hindersprövning is needed if you want to register the marriage with skatteverket. It's not needed to get married in the US or for the visa process.

I had the Hindersprövning done after my wedding, when I returned home and sent in all the name change papers and registered the marriage..

Since the fiancé is Filipina she might not care if the wedding gets registered in Sweden. The marriage is valid an recognized either way
