Have you called NVC and asked for your case number?

After NVC it is sent to embassy in Stockholm. They send out the email with instructions of the medical, the DS-160, the fee, and the interview and what you need to bring.

Yes, I do have the case number. And I know it is sent to Stockholm, the NVC sent it January 22. But I haven't heard anything from them after that. No email and I don't know if they have either of our email addresses and no regular mail.

Did you include the G-1145 to your package?

Just looked on the I-129F you wrote the petitioners e-mail address. Have you looked in the spam mail to see if it's there?

Did you not give them your email address with your I-129F application? You and/or your fiance needs to check your spam folders.

If you are 100% sure you did not send in the document with your contact info you need to contact the embassy with your contact info so they can contact you.

My fiance is sleeping right now so I can't ask him, I sent him a message and he will answer as soon as he wakes up.

How do I contact the embassy if I need to give them my contract info? Last week I called the number I found on here and the receptionist gave me a number to the visa office but I don't know how to get to actually talk to a person there, all I get is "press 1 for this or 2 for that"

At some point, preferably before you enter the US, please read up on the Adjustment of Status and everything you need/should do after arriving into the USA so you don't miss anything.

We did include the G-1145 and we both have checked our spam mail folders. It just seems weird that it takes this long to hear anything.

Of course I will read up on what I need for the AOS before I leave for the US.

I'm sorry if I came across as rude but I really have read everything I've been able to find and it's very stressful when you don't hear anything for so long.

If you look back a few pages you'll see another one around your date who also had a long wait before they heard from the embassy.

Can´t believe that i mailed my BC to Stockholm yesterday.

But it have not left DK yet. wow Postdanmark is still #######.

And then they can´t figure out why ppl stopped using them for letters.

You should have taken the train over the bridge and used Swedish postal service. :D Both times I sent papers to the embassy, I dropped them off at the post office around 5.30 pm and it was delivered before 9 am the following morning.

So have your papers been delivered yet or they're still stuck in Denmark?

My guy got the email yesterday with instructions, and my case arrived at the embassy just a few days ago. Call the nvc, just follow the instructions with pressing 1 and 2 and so on, i got through to talk to them in like 10 minutes, then you'll get your case number and you can contact the embassy.

I wasn't trying to be mean. You seem confused about this process and I just wanted to help you out. We've been here long enough to see so many people who, when they finally come over to the US have no idea what's going on. They don't know about when to get SSN, what documents to send in etc. It's best to be prepared and you can either be offended by someone helping you, or you can be prepared for the next step.

The US Embassy in Stockholm have been unusually slow lately, most likely due to the changed requirements surrounding the Visa Waiver Program which requires anyone who's been to Iraq, Iran, Sudan or Syria on or after March 1, 2011 as well as nationals of VWP countries who are also nationals of the mentioned countries to get a tourist visa instead.

Good luck on your journey.

So, I'm getting everything ready for my interview, and then I realize that my instruction email says this:

BIRTH CERTIFICATE: Your original birth certificate from Norway issued in English. The certificate must state the date and place of birth of both parents and must be from the country where you were born.

Does it really have to state date/place of my parents birth? Doesn't look like Skattetaten offer that. Any Norwegians with any input?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

The birth certificate in English was all I needed at the interview(for i130 visa) They never asked for anything about my parents in connection to that.

Yes you do. You might have to speak to several people before you get the right birth cert. I spoke to three or four different people at the Swedish tax office who told me that kind of birth cert was only available in Swedish. Paid a certified translator to translate it into English, got a 221(g) at the interview saying they need an English version straight from the tax office. It delayed our visa with several weeks. Get them what they want. :)
