they asked me to submit a new police certificate since the one they had expires in may. and my husband's employment letter. They also had not recived my medical.

I dont know why to each organization my case arrives, it becomes slow :D. I was at turtle vermont center, then NVC with all technical difficulties and now this VWP :((. I hope it does not take more than 1 month. do yo uthink if we can contact them regarding status ?

I'm so sorry your wait has been so long! :( I do think you can contact them - it won't hurt and maybe you can get some peace knowing why it's taking so long. I really hope you get your visa soon.

OMFG :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

STK has moved my Date up with 19 days...

So now i have to move fast!!!

Hotel and airplane ticket need to be booked.

That's great! Congratulations! :)

Now a question: Those of you who went through Stockholm, did you ever need to show the copy of your entire petition like this site suggests you should bring? I'm asking because it is not mentioned anywhere on the checklist.

What did they ask to see at the embassy? (For K1 mainly, though other responses are also welcome)

I will not. My better half forgot to make a copy and the embassy have the entire package so I don't worry about it at all :)

:( I want this process to be over. next time you see me in TED show talking about hardship of LEGAL migration to USA :D

No believe me, I am the record holder of being the longest application processing time. no body else has worst situation than me. this vermont service center seems to be a cursed one. I am telling every person I know to change their US address if they are forced to file in vermont!!

It's crazy that they took a year to process your I-130. Hopefully your visa journey is over soon.

They have the petition so I don't see why you would have to bring a copy of it all?

We did an IR-1 visa and didn't bring a copy of petition or anything like that. Evidence is obviously very different between CR/IR-1 and K-1 but they wanted to see our original marriage cert, police cert valid for at least three months after interview, in our case a new affidavit of support since we were using assets, and then more bona fida proof like pictures, trips and stuff like that.

There are some things from the original i-129f package you need to bring. I for example have to bring another certified copy of M's divorce decree, even if we sent one in the original package. I've heard more than one story on this forum where they were asked for this at the interview.

Yeah I meant the general recommendation here on VJ....which is good to use if the embassy doesn't provide any instructions. 3 years ago Stockholm was very good at sending out specific instructions for both cr1 and K1 on what they needed to see. So that's why I wondered if they stopped doing that for K1...

I will also bring the originals of all the copies we sent in with the i-129f, even if it's not required. All the tickets, boarding passes, photos and so on - we only sent in copies of all that, so I will bring all the originals if they want to look at it.

I'll rather bring too much to be on the safe side.

I agree. Better to be safe than sorry. I actually had to send in a document later that they didn't mention on the interview check list(proof of name change).

Just paid the immigration fee to USCIS. Now it's getting real. :)

Do we have to pay that before we enter the us?

You had to send in a proof of name change? Didn't all your supporting documents come in your new name?

No, you can pay the immigration fee before or after entering the US. But if you wait to pay the fee until you've entered the US, it might slow it down a bit. It says the green card will be issued within 60 days of entering the US, unless you wait to pay the green card fee, in which case the 60 days start once you've paid the fee so...
