Hi all you experienced people! ;-) i was just wondering about the criminal record you have to supply, i ordered mine today, but i just ordered a "normal/standard" one, they gave me another option to order a full one, but does this matter? Anyone know?

Hi,

You have to order the "full one" - and in fact the Norwegian Police even issues one particular type special designed for US visa applicants. You just have to pick that one when you order online. Super easy, I for mine in less than two weeks :-)

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Hello,

Me and my fiancée recently sent out I-129f packet and received our electronic NOA1 last Friday. We're trying to move through the process as quickly as possible (just like everyone else of course). Something that we think could speed up our process by a few weeks is if it was possible, for me as the beneficiary, to go through the medical exam while waiting for the NOA2.

Has anyone in here ever done that before, or know if it is possible to get the medical exam done ahead of time and submit the results as soon as the embassy in Stockholm requests them?

We did our medical before having case complete at NVC. We did it because we were hoping to speed things up so I could move over in time for my husband's 40th birthday in August 2015. Long story short, we were stuck eight months at NVC, had to involve our Senator to get our case completed. Ended up having my interview in December 2015, 15 months after we first filed our petition, which meant I had to re-do my medical. Only you and your fiance know if it's worth the risk of possibly having to pay the medical fees twice and travel up to Stockholm twice for the medical.

The medical is valid for six months and it has to be valid for at least three months after the interview, as the embassy don't like issuing visas valid for less than three months.

I wanted to ask you about the interview. I have read the posts about it on another forum but I would like to know when you arrived on your interview date, and how long you waited for?

Im driving in from Älmhult, Sweden on the same day and have my dad and brother with me, so it would be nice with some kind of idea of how long everything will take.

Did I mention I am nervous?

:D

Immigration interviews are scheduled for 8.30 am. It takes about 10 minutes to clear embassy security and arrive at the "immigration counter", so no need to be there before 8 am. From the time the Swedish person collects your documents till you have your interview and you're ready to go, it takes about 30 minutes. I was at the embassy 8 am and back at my hotel around the corner around 9.15 am.

There's a hotel down the road, Villa Källhagen, which has a nice breakfast buffet for your brother and dad while they wait. :)

And no need to be nervous, everyone at the embassy are real nice and professional. Good luck.

Hi you guys

Im currently waiting to do my interview on the 24th of March. So frekkin' excited and incredibly nervous too. We really want to get married on the 30th of April, but if there is one thing we have learned in this process; always assume the worst. And never ask questions about why they do stuff the way they do......it will just make you agitated, stressed and extremely sad. :P

Oh well, it haven't been that bad. So far it has gone pretty smoothly (7,9,13) from when we applied back in September. We are just hoping, that the last part will be smooth too.

I don't know if you've read the reviews yet, but if you haven't there's a link here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Sweden&cty=&dfilter=5

I'll be going from Älmhult myself (or close by at least) but I'll be taking the train. It helps having a friend who lives in Sthlm, I'll have my very own personal guide. :P

It says my appointment is scheduled for 9am though I have heard from a lot of people that it was no problem to arrive earlier than that (around 8am as you say).

And thank you! I does look like we can have a nice day in Stockholm after the interview. That would be absolutely lovely.

That sounds really nice. I think my dad, brother and I can actually have a gorgeous day in Stockholm too, so that would be awesome.

When do you have your interview date?

Guess that means the 8.30 am slot is already taken. ? If your appointment is at 9 am then no need to come before 8.30 am. Like I said, only takes max 10 minutes to clear embassy security and reach the visa unit. There's parking on the road just by the embassy.

For those that have appointments at 8:30 and don't mind walking: there's free parking until 9 at a museum further down the road if I remember correctly. I forgot the name of it though but I can double check when I get home from work. Will save you a little money :)

I actually had to wait around 30 minutes outside the embassy, so if it is cold, bundle up!

We didn't really have to wait, but I was totally unprepared for it to be so much colder than Denmark and didn't have warm enough clothes. Now having lived in Minnesota, I probably would think it was warm, but it was a bit of a shock.

Thank you everyone for your replies to my question about the medical examination.

Luckily, living in the suburbs, Stockholm is only 15 minutes away by commuter train for me.

Since you have convinced me that it is better to wait until later stages to have the medical examination done, is there anyone who can tell me about their experience with getting an appointment? Can it be booked at a relatively short notice of only a few days?

Also, I have read that the chest x-ray does not require an appointment, and that one can simply drop-in during opening hours. Is this correct? Is Sophiahemmet the place in Stockholm where that can be done?

And finally - Proof of vaccination, do you recommend getting your blood tested at a health care center, or is it possible to get that done during the medical examination?

Thank you in advance for any responses. They are greatly appreciated.

Hi guys- with the interview only a month away I'm beginning to overthink everything I'll need. Quick question about the military record. The checklist states "A certified copy of any military record is required, either stating that the military service has been completed, or that the applicant is exempt from serving". Does this mean the beneficiary has to submit a military record even if he/she never served or never intended to? and where would I apply for one?

Thanks!!
