Hi all,

I need some advice with the I-134: My bank issues "immigration letters" for sponsoring non US citizens that show date the account opened/average deposit for 12 months/current balance. Is this what I will be using for my affidavit? also- to whom is the immigration letter to be addressed? Swedish Consulate/Embassy?

Are you using assets to meet financial requirements? If so, the letter should be addressed to the US Embassy in Sweden. Not sure how the k-1 financial requirements look like or the form but if you're using assets from multiple sources/places, they want a signed letter explaining exactly what amounts make up the totals on the form. Basically which assets are counted in what box on the form.

I meet the financial requirements through my employment so I'll send my fiance recent pay stubs and letter of employment- the affidavit asks how much I have on deposit in savings banks in the United States, so I was going to use the immigration letter as evidence (I'm not using any other assets for the affidavit). Hi Kl30, if you meet the required 125% of the poverty line with just your employment, then you don't need anything from your bank. You just need the i-134, the letter of employment, a few of your recent paystubs and your tax transcript for the last 3 years (Not required for the i-134 but is for the AOS so might as well get them). That's all I included for my fiance and had no issues. The bank info. is if you don't meet the minimum requirements with your employment and are using assets in addition to cover the requirements.

Me and my fiancée recently sent out I-129f packet and received our electronic NOA1 last Friday. We're trying to move through the process as quickly as possible (just like everyone else of course). Something that we think could speed up our process by a few weeks is if it was possible, for me as the beneficiary, to go through the medical exam while waiting for the NOA2.

Has anyone in here ever done that before, or know if it is possible to get the medical exam done ahead of time and submit the results as soon as the embassy in Stockholm requests them?

JBDA: the medical is only valid for a certain amount of time so if it's done too early you may have to do it all over again!

JBDA: I think the clinic wants your case number (at least that's what the doctor in Gbg told me), and you don't get your case number until after you get your NOA2 from what I understand, at NVC.

And also note that your visa is only valid as long as your medical is.

JBDA, the medical office won't do the medical without your case number and you won't get your case number until after you receive your NOA2, NVC receives your petition from USCIS and creates the case number and sends it to the embassy. Also, as the other posters mentioned, the medical is only valid for 6mo's and your Visa itself is tied to that validity date so if you do it too soon, you shorten your validity timeframe and can potentially have to re-do the medical before you get to the interview stage and the medical is not cheap and you don't want to have to pay twice for it. I know you want to jump ahead in the process but if you do things out of order, you can really mess things up. Everyone here has gone through or is going through the process and understands wanting to get things done but you have to be patient and go through the steps in the right order. A lot of patience is needed for this process.

I never had to give them my Case number, only needed my passport scanned.

Maybe they match my case with that information, I even tried to give them the number at my appointment

I don't even think we had a case number that was told to us before the interview because of the DCF and it wasn't an issue with the medical. All we had was a handwritten NOA2.

The expiration date on your visa will depend on your medical. Your visa is only valid 6 months after your medical. Meaning if the medical is done in March for example the visa would only be valid until September. After that the medical would have to be redone.

Mine arrived 5 days after my interview. Don't know how fast/slow they are now due to the new rules of VWP etc. Considering the waiting time for an interview has gone up from 3 to 7-8 days it might take longer.

Hi you guys

Im currently waiting to do my interview on the 24th of March. So frekkin' excited and incredibly nervous too. We really want to get married on the 30th of April, but if there is one thing we have learned in this process; always assume the worst. And never ask questions about why they do stuff the way they do......it will just make you agitated, stressed and extremely sad.
Oh well, it haven't been that bad. So far it has gone pretty smoothly (7,9,13) from when we applied back in September. We are just hoping, that the last part will be smooth too.

I wanted to ask you about the interview. I have read the posts about it on another forum but I would like to know when you arrived on your interview date, and how long you waited for?

Im driving in from Älmhult, Sweden on the same day and have my dad and brother with me, so it would be nice with some kind of idea of how long everything will take.

Did I mention I am nervous?
