Does anyone know when to send a new K-1 package in case the old one myseriously went missing? We haven't heard anything about our petiton since it left for CSC, so we have no idea if it even arrived. We've never been able to check status anywhere and when calling USCIS they just say they can't find any info about our petiton. When is it appropriate to send a new package, and what happens with the payment as we've already paid once?

I'm confused have you got NOA2? And you think it's lost from CSC to NVC?

According to your timeline you received your NOA1 in January. They didn't say they can't find your petition right? They just said they just don't have any info on it? I wouldn't worry about it. They're probably working on it and I know some here on VJ who were never able to check their status and get got approved just fine.

From what I understand you get the NOA1 when it's registered at the Texas Lockbox thingy? And after that it gets transfered to California Service Centre? If so, I have a feeling it got lost between Texas and CSC as there are no traces since the NOA1, and when calling USCIS they have zero info about our peition. I assume they never got it. I could be wrong about how it works though?

It says "Case not found" when we try to check our status (both on app and on their webpage), and when calling them we get the same answer.

I translated a few documents sent to NVC for my spouse's visa. I simply added a text box to the translations certifying that I was competent in the language or something similar. I followed guidelines I found on VJ. No problems whatsoever. I remember seeing instructions from the embassy that mentioned official translators, but that was long after our stuff was submitted. Perhaps it makes a difference if documents are submitted directly to the embassy. Just wanted to share my personal experience from 2014/2015.

In my interview Dec 2015, they told me they don't accept those kind of translations. In my case, we had the birth cert translated by a certified translator. Still got a 221(g) for it and had to send a new birth cert in, the official Swedish one in English. ?

You got your notice of action with the case number so yes they do have it. Most likely it will be in California. Did they say they can't find it, or they don't have info on your case? Very important difference. Like I mentioned earlier, many people go through this process without being able to see the case status. It could be you have been assigned a case number but your case haven't been put into the system yet.

Glad you found it but to answer your question anyway: all documents not in English needs to be translated by Kammarkollegiet.

No, NOA1 is when CSC have your case... They only just started to Approve January filers yours will come very soon. After NOA2 (your approval) It'll be sent to NVC.

Your Hard copy NOA1 is even from California service center and you got that one according to your timeline.

Maybe you should read up a little so you know what to do after your NOA2 :)

Which one did it say in the letter that we danish should use :)

Maybe, it all just seems a bit odd to me. We got some special kind of customer service when we called the other day because it's been more than 45 days since our NOA1 - and they couldn't find anything either, as if it doesn't even exist. They searched for our receipt number and both our names several times but nothing.

Let's just say it is missing, when do we send another one?

You can call all you want but they can't say anything on your approval because the have 5 months before people should call. And 45 days is your estimate like I say the rally just started on January you will have yours very soon.

Have you tried to enter you receipt number in the app or online?

I would also recommend reading up on what happens after marriage and AOS because a lot of people seem to have no clue what they should do once they get stateside...

The email only mentioned Kammarkollegiet. That's why I said people from Norway and Denmark should contact the embassy and ask what they should use.

Just because you have been assigned a case number doesn't mean anyone has put you in the system yet. They won't do that until they start working on your case. Read up more on the K1 and AOS process and be patient :) Do not send anything in until they contact you and say they lost it because at this point, it is not lost.

We've tried our receipt number via the app, website and via phone/customer service. Every place we could come up with.

I guess we have to keep waiting - I just don't want to spend even more time waiting if it is in fact missing. We're already two months behind if that's the case.

"It might just not be in the system yet", we don't get that answer when we call in. If that was the case I assume they would've told us just that. =/
