Posting this for anyone getting their medical done in Stockholm- my fiance had his today. Well, first he had his chest xray a couple weeks ago and managed to just walk in and get an appointment that day (I guess he was one of the lucky ones who didn't have to wait). At the medical today, they took his height, did an eye test, took some blood, and he got a tetanus and flu shot. He was in and out in an hour! But yikes, do these fees and expenses add up quickly... and we haven't even gotten to the AOS application...

The x-ray place in Stockholm does walk-ins, he should have gotten that info when he booked his medical.

I know what you mean, we have spent so much money on this visa! First we had to fly to Oslo to get the medical done, then we had to fly to Stockholm for the interview. Since the interview was early spending the night in a hotel was necessary.......

Oh yes, getting blood works and taking vaccinations at the clinic in Stockholm is ridiculously expensive. I've recommended everyone to do vaccinations or blood tests to show immunity at their local clinic. For me it was half price doing it before I had my medical.

Picked up visa packet and passport yesterday and must give some positive feedback about the US embassy in Stockholm. They might be slow at replying to emails right now but they sure are on top of things. They did in fact figure out that the original packet we sent, where I forgot to put our case number, belonged to us. And when they received the second package we sent just in case, they emailed me and asked if we wanted the papers back or if they could shred them. And the best of all. They accidentally kept our original documents and gave me back the copies at the interview, I've been worrying about our original marriage cert but figured I'd try and swap it at POE. Well when I picked up my visa packet, they had placed all our originals in a plastic pocket and, I assume, taken copies themselves and put in the sealed envelope. I was impressed.

It's actually a really good embassy to go through. Very professional and understanding and polite. Honestly, I think the embassy experience very much reflects the general attitude and culture of the country the embassy is in. I.e. Scandinavians are generally honest and polite and have this very distinct view of right and wrong, which means the US embassy can't have many people coming through coming up with stories or lying to get a visa etc. Plus the Scandinavian countries always end up top five countries in the world to live in so why would we want to move unless for love?!

Haha excatly!! ... No, I really don't think the have cases with lying people at least then it extremely few! ...

I'm a bit excited how they handle the K-2 since they don't do that often He can only answer a little haha so they won't get much out of him

Aaaw, that's so cute. How old? I know they've had a few CR/IR-2s, which basically is the same thing, but I think that was older kids.

He is 10 so not that young, he is just very shy

Georgia16 my son was 6 at the time of the interview, the only thing he was asked was if he was looking forward to move! Kids really only have to be there so they can make sure the passport matches the kid.

He is flying with Lufthansa and coming into Dallas as his POE. The dog is coming over on the same flight he is on. He had to call Lufthansa a couple times to verify their process and also to reserve a spot for her once he booked his flight as they have limited space for pets so you have to reserve a space and then apparently pay for the dog at the airport? Little confusing on their processes and not entirely sure what the final cost will be to fly her because he has been quoted 3 different prices for her ranging from $75-400 so he is waiting for the confirmation email to see what the actual price will be for her. Got to love airlines and depending on who you talk to determines what they tell you. ugh.
