Yes, I agree it's weird. Not in spam (I wish it was though), I keep checking.

When I emailed them feb 2nd they said "We have received your case, and as soon as we have reviewed it, we will send a checklist and instructions how to schedule your appointment", so what can I really do but wait?

You can't do anything if thats what the reply. I'm just puzzled as to why it takes so lang, I just really thought they were so fast and I have seen that with others. But when you also add that they don't reply on peoples e-mails they must be in some kind of backlog.

Hopefully it will come this week! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

It seems like they have a lot to do now. Saw that the waiting time for an interview has gone up from 3 to 9 days. I am also not sure if they are in the process of rotating people. Usually people who are working embassies work there for 3 years and then either go stateside or to another embassy. I saw that the embassy wrote on their website that they're looking to rent apartments in the Stockholm area for the next 3 years. Would be odd if they rotated all at once.

I'm a little bit troubled about my fiance's police record. In it he was caught having narcotics in his system 4 years ago which he had to pay a fine. Next year supposedly the record would be clear from the system. We're not sure how this is gonna go and if we should still proceed to the visa interview. We were confused whether that was a convicted crime or not. Any suggestions?

Gc&dl: Go to the interview, most likely he will only get a one year ban. Which he would have gotten anyway since he ticked yes in the box where it's asked about drug use.

Oh I hope they're not rotating people. That would suck if a new person is coming in and having to go through our entire file before we can have the approval. Especially since they've had everything they asked for weeks ago. You would think they'd try and finish all the outstanding cases before rotating. Or at least that's how private companies would do it. Doesn't matter what country we're talking about, government agencies are not really known for their efficiency and organization. No offense to anyone working for a government agency, there are exceptions to every rule.

Like Alaska says, it's a one year ban. He'll also have to submit to random drug tests throughout that year. I have read some recent posts here on VJ about people getting their visa before the one year ban was over though, so they might have eased up on that a little.

I can tell you, being in this process for 17 months sure test the nerves. Either it tears a relationship apart or it makes it stronger. Luckily for my husband and I it's the latter. If it wasn't for my husband and how much I love him, I would have cracked a long time ago. This visa process is by far, the toughest thing I've ever had to do.

When you submitted your paperwork, did you list your email or your partner's email? The reason I ask is because the checklist will be sent to the email address that you listed on the paperwork itself.

They have all my emails and my wife´s.

So thats not the problem, its the Embassy thats the problem.

It's probably different between k-1 & cr/ir-1 because on spousal visa, the info is sent to both petitioner & beneficiary, as long as both emails were given to NVC of course. Which I guess they always are since we submit choice of agent & DS-260 to NVC.

Don't wanna jump the gun but our status just changed to ready. ?

Thank you for your inquiry. USCIS handles scheduling for our immigrant visa applicants and sends us a schedule each month. While we have the ability to move appointments, we cannot do so until all cases are assigned, which is not yet the case for March.

Once we have received all of our bookings, we may be able to reschedule you. However, we cannot determine that at this time as all case are not yet scheduled.
