Sorry, I'm so frustrated, I just have rant... So on Tuesday February 2nd, the embassy received the requested corrected documents to the ones we already sent them for our 221(g). Been checking CEAC ever since, wondering why the date for the status update didn't change when they received the extra documents on the 2nd. Just realized yesterday that I forgot to write our case number on the new documents. It's seems that everything that can go wrong in this visa process has gone wrong.

They currently have five open CR/IR-1 cases at the US embassy in Stockholm. I guess three now, since two just got their visas issued yesterday. (Congrats to you.) So you really wouldn't think it would be THAT hard to figure out what case these documents belong to. I mean especially not since in my letter, I refer to an email we got from them on January 20th and we're using assets, which I only know of one other current case doing and that case has had the visa issued. I mean how hard can it be???? I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE US immigrations, why do they have to make everything so complicated??? :ranting::protest: 17 MONTHS!!! We just want the flipping visa now so we can start living again. :girlwerewolf2xn:

I'm so sorry you are having so much trouble with all this.

Yeah they may be able to find it or they should, but I do think you should just write them a short e-mail with the details just to make sure :)

Good luck hope you'll have the visa approved and in hand very soon!

That is terrible, 17 months?!?!? I was over here having a fit over 5 months and we were living together at the time. I couldn't even imagine it taking that long. They need to get their stuff together and realize that it is people's lives that they are messing with.

WOW, you are not a very nice person, are you?!?!?!?! First of all, there is a HUGE difference between forgetting and "can't be bothered"... Perhaps I forgot because we're exhausted after being in this process for 17 MONTHS and I haven't seen the person I love for NINE MONTHS. Can you understand that???

I blame the US government for having such a ridiculous process that it takes a year or longer for two MARRIED people that love each other to be together. I blame the US government for getting all our papers at the NVC phase and not doing anything with them, so we basically had to fight with NVC for eight months and get our Senator involved to get case complete from NVC. I blame the US government for giving us a 221(g) at the time of my interview, which it took us 15 months to get to, and then when we send in our response, WITH a copy of the 221(g) that had our case number on it, they send us an email wanting even more. I DON'T blame them because I FORGOT to write our case number, that's on me, but what I do ask of the US government is to think a little outside the box and be a little flexible. We've jumped hoop after hoop for them for 17 months and they can't find which of three cases these papers belong to???

17 months in this process, we haven't seen each other for nine months and then you come with your attitude saying we can't be bothered.... Do me a favor, get a dictionary or use google and look up the words compassion, understanding, sympathy. These are all traits that make us into good human beings and it's certainly traits that belong in a SUPPORT FORUM.

Don't shoot that low. We can all forget something in thi process.

Besides we are so few people going through this that we need to support each other through this no matter what.

Know it's frustrating! Now one can put themselves in your shoes with that long waiting, but don't blame the K-1's for their fast process. I agree it's weird but there is nothing to do about it.

I know he shot low and you are tired, sad and just want this to be over with. I keep everything I can crossed that it will happen soon!

Thanks for the support and you are so right, we are not that many Scandinavians going through this process, we need to help and support each other the best we can. :)

I think you misunderstood my comment about the process being too long for married people though. I didn't mean that to be a blame on the K-1 process or in comparison to the K-1 visa. Sorry if it came through that way. I just meant that when someone has gotten married, they've made a commitment to be together and then the US government shouldn't keep them apart for a year or longer. I mean we're lucky we're from a VWP country, can you imagine those from other countries who have to get married and then say "bye bye see you in a year or longer" to their significant other?!?! :( There's one couple on here where she's a USC and he's from Jordan and they've fought US immigrations for four or five years before he was allowed to move over. That is just an insane immigration policy and procedure. If US immigrations worked more efficiently, they could cut the CR/IR-1 process down to 8 months, that would be more reasonable.

And when it comes to the K-1 visa, which ultimately is a non-immigrant visa that you adjust on, well six months process is way too long... Again, by working more efficiently, they should be able to cut this down to a four month process.

Okay well I'm glad I misunderstood. :) Yeah I really think we all need to support each other, I know I'm trying to offer my support to everybody because this is a hard thing to go through and unfortunately it can be hard for family and friends to understand this process so it's so nice with support, help and being able to vent and shear joy with people in the same place :)

I know i just started this process as you can see in my signature and I'm already stressed out by a few thing so no there is no way I could put myself in yours or that lady you are telling about. It must be so extremely hard not to be able to start the life together with the one you have chosen to be with for the rest of your life but just have to wait.

I think all in all the IR/CR-1 process is probably a bit faster than the K-1, or about the same at least. It takes about 6 months (or more) to get a K-1 and then you still have to go through the whole AOS process too which probably takes a year or something. With the IR/CR-1 you have already gone through all that when entering the country, which must be really nice. But yeah it sucks being away from each other, that's the main issue for us, that's why we decided to go for the K-1 and not the IR-1. It would've been too hard leaving him after getting married. :(

Yes, I think we can all agree that it sucks being apart and all of us want to be together as soon as possible.

Yes, I would be hard leaving someone after getting married, but some people choose that way because it is the right way for them and others the K-1.

No matter what way we are all in the same boat. So we need to support each other and not push anybody in the water.

I hope you understand that comment before was not nice or supportive. But enough of that I hope you can offer more support to others as we all go on in this process that's what we all need :)

Hope you get your NOA2 soon!

I didn't write that.

Thank you, I sure hope so too. We called USCIS the other day and as always they have no idea what's going on. The answer is always "You have to wait a bit longer". :P
