Ok, so I have a question for anyone who did their medical in Oslo. Did you get a copy of the medical info sent to you either via email or mail from them when they sent the info to the embassy? The reason I ask is because they told my fiance that they would send a copy to him via email of the medical info. 3025a I think is the form but he hasn't received anything via email or mail and the medical was done back on 12/16 so now I'm worried that they might not have sent it to the embassy even though they have had plenty of time to do so.

Just checked postnord's website and the 221(g) papers we sent to the embassy yesterday has already been delivered. The embassy paid for express delivery of the papers. That's pretty impressive.

Almost as impressive as when we used UPS to send my husband's new i-864 a couple of weeks ago. It was handed in at a UPS office on a Wednesday at 11.40 am (that's 6.40 pm Sweden time) and it was delivered to me at home the following Friday at 9 am. That's 36 hours to get a letter from the US to Sweden. I would really recommend UPS to anyone needing to send signed papers between Sweden and the US. We used them three times during our visa process and they've already been super fast, reliable, helpful and not too expensive. Hoping this was the last time we had to use them though.

So now when the embassy got our papers already this morning, we're really hoping to hear something by the end of the week.

They received our letter on the 21st in the morning. The CEAC website showed "administrative processing" from my interview on the 17th and till late in the afternoon on the 22nd where it updated to "issued"

This gives us hope we'll hear something by tomorrow afternoon too then. Fingers crossed.

Well worth the money if you're in a hurry, like with our checklist at NVC or with our 221(g) from the embassy now. Although it didn't help with the 221(g) since the Swedish police took so long with my police cert.

Ok so I'm very confused now. My Fiance said that the interview went well but the embassy hasn't received the medical paperwork from the dr. in Oslo and was told by the consular he was interviewed by that he is approved as soon as they get the paperwork; however, on the document that they gave him, it says for now not eligible. Is this normal? I haven't seen anyone mention that the document says this. Also, I'm freaking out because our petition is only valid until Feb. 4th, If they don't get the paperwork before then and process it, we're screwed aren't we?

My fiance got a response just a bit ago from the Medical dr's office in Oslo that apparently they are waiting for some results to be sent to them still from his normal dr. that they haven't gotten but as soon as they get the info, they will supposedly send the paperwork the same day to the embassy; however, when he had his medical at the time the dr. had told him that if they didn't get this particular info within 48hrs, it wasn't that necessary and they would send the paperwork onto the embassy at that point. So I'm very frustrated because this was suppose to have been done already. I feel like we are not approved at all right now and that this whole process could get us denied all because the medical dr's office hasn't sent in the paperwork. Sorry but I'm really freaking out right now about this.

So after sweden closed there boarders, what do we do when we go there and have to give them our passport ?

Do they say Drivers license is fine to fly with going back ?

Don't worry about the not eligible on the 221(g), it's just standard wording. If he was told he was approved then his visa will be issued as soon as they have the medical.

Edit: just saw that your medical was on Dec 16th, same as mine. My medical reached the embassy a week later, on Dec 23rd. I would call the medical in Norway if I were you to make sure they didn't miss it.

I sure hope it doesn't take long to get his dr. to send the info. to the visa medical dr's office so that the full paperwork can be sent to the embassy. I told my fiance that he is going to have to bug both offices every day and be the "squeaky wheel" to make sure it doesn't get dropped through the cracks. It just annoys and upsets me that this wasn't taken care of and now we have to wait until they get their acts together and do their jobs. We should have had an approval today, not an approval pending medical paperwork received....ugh.

Sorry for the rant but you all understand the frustration levels this causes. My friends and family do try to be supportive, don't understand the level of stress and frustration this creates.

Don't worry too much about the petition expiring (I'm assuming you mean the expiry date on the NOA?). It should be routinely extended by the embassy as long as they judge you to not having abandoned your application. If you worry, you can send them an email about it when it is nearing the expiry date. Mine originally expired two weeks before my interview, but it never came up as an issue.

The document he got was the 221g right? That is normal when they are missing paperwork etc. I also got one, but after providing the listed item I had my visa issued 3-4 workdays later.
