Anyone know how the 221(g) works. Once we send in the missing documents using the address label we got from the embassy, how do we know that they actually received the documents? How long does it take for them to make a decision once they have our documents? How do we know once they've made a decision, does it say approved or denied on the CEAC website or we get an email or letter? Once our case is hopefully approved, how long does it take before I get my passport back and does it say anything on CEAC about visa being issued or it'll just go from admin processing to issued one day, nothing in between those two status? Lots of questions and worries about this part. :( Just want our visa journey to be over now, coming up on 16 months. :(

Mine was received the day after I sent it and I saw my status update to AP. Received on a Friday and then Issued on the monday, received visa on tuesday. I'm sure you'll be fine, god know you guys deserve it

Trettondag Jul is on the 6th so my guess is the embassy will be back full force on the 11th. Not saying no one will be working just that during this time of year they tend to be low on manpower and focus on more urgent matters. The rest of January will be a catch up time and by February sometime they will be back on track.

Yeah NVC will pick up but the embassy is usually behind during January. But with that said, we are still lucky time wise in Scandinavia!

No problem there, we still haven't received my new police cert so I think the Swedish police office workers also took a long break. :-/

The one you need for the visa you'll have to get down at the policestation and get a stamp from them as well. But you can go in and get it right away
