I am finding that my fiance getting the medical booked to be one of the most difficult things right now. OMG, there is only 1 dr. in Norway that does them and he is in Oslo which is 2hrs away from where my Fiance lives. They don't answer the phone at all, it only ever goes to vm, they don't return voicemails either so we have not been able to speak to a person at all. They have responded to emails but it takes them like 2 days to respond and they don't answer the questions you ask. I mean seriously how hard is it to give a list of available dates/times for an appt. when asked, what do you have available for an appt. next week? Answer we got back after 2 days waiting at 4pm his time, we have an appt today at 5pm available....ummmm, hello he's 2 hrs away and you respond 2 days later with that? OMG sooooo frustrating!!

It seems like it´s a bad place.

In denmark there is also only one place, but if i email then, i have a email back no later then next morning.

And they pick up the phone fast.

Can't you do your medical in Stockholm when you go for your interview? They have replied very fast via email when I have contacted them, which is a good sign.

People have to do their medical in the country of residence. Trust me, I tried pleading with them but nope. I live like a 25 minute drive from the clinic in Denmark but still had to fly up to Stockholm for my medical. But it's definitely something they should look into.

What was the cost to fly to stockholm for you ?

Is train cheaper or even better?

Aaaww, I didn't know that, mallafri76. That's not good, you'd think the medical would be the same in all three countries, so you should be able to choose. Nevermind my previous post then.

Is train cheaper or even better?

Train's cheaper but flying's definitely better. I paid 1,200 SEK for return flight and then about 500 SEK for the airport express train.

wow - I was told 200-1200 dkk for train and i found tickets to fly for about 700 dkk return.

Yeah, I think my ticket is a little more expensive cause I'm flying close to Christmas. Plus I'm a Eurobonus Gold member from all the trips to the US to see my hubby so I only fly Star Alliance.

I have another question, has anyone run into the issue where when you go to book the interview on ustraveldocs.com that there is only 1 date and 1 appt. available in the next 4+months and no others available? I'm concerned because since he hasn't actually scheduled the interview yet that we may not get an appt.

I talked with operator and he said that the interview depends on how many people had CC ahead of me . so there is no interview scheduled for me yet and he had no time frame as well.

Does anybody know roughly how long does it take to get interview at US embassy in Sweden?

Keep in mind too you can request an earlier interview date by email. My original interview date was November 12th. I emailed them asking if they had any earlier slots and they rescheduled me for the 6th.
