I don't think I'm following, what do you mean with "considering that you have everything set and ready"..? ☺️

I hope Maria is right that they do more than one interview a day, haha. I'm doing the CR1 thingy, already married. Don't know if that's any different from K1 interviews or tourist visa interviews..

It would really suck to have to wait several months for an interview :( hubby's birthday is December 20th, our anniversary is December 26th and of course Christmas on the 25th. (And New Years..)

Hi Danielhenson! I'm on the same process CR1/IR1 that you and just a month or less ahead of you. You can count with approxm 20 days from the 8 of September to receive your CC (but it can be less too :joy: ). This is IF you don't get a checklist. I was so worried about getting a checklist too but it went fine as long as you know that you have sent everything they asked for.

I got my CC on the 4 of September and I am now waiting to get an interview day. The NVC schedules it for you so you can just wait, but I have seen that when you receive your interview date you can contact the embassy and ask/beg for a closer date. I would also recommend to call the NVC when you are getting closer to the 20 days of waiting and see if you have your CC.

Don't lose hope I think you can count on Christmas with your love :)

 Maybe you can also try to schedule your medical for October so.. if and when you get your interview that is already done!

When I had my interview last week (CR1) there were one K1, two CR/IR1 and one who had been petitioned by his father. Everyone with an 8:30 appointment. The reason I know is because you can hear everything people say when they have their interviews!

The rest of the room was full of non-immigrant visas (not K1) but the process for them was very different.

ESGW and all others that have gotten your interview date. How long did it take for NVC to schedule interview after CC? Did you call NVC and asked or just waited for an email with the information? Thanks

I got approved for IR-6 at my interview today! :joy:

So now I have to wait up to 90 days for the Permanent Resident Card. I wonder if it will take them 89 days, or if it's usually sent out earlier and 90 days is a "just in case" thing on their part. Then SSN comes next.

Hello visa Journey peeps,

So we got our case number on 9-14 and i tracked it on CEAC website. it said this "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

1) What does this exactly mean??

2) Will we still be getting a packet 3 emailed to us?

if anyone could help with questions, it would be great!

Thanks,

NVC will be sending your application to the embassy in Sweden. For me, it took 5 working days from NVC told me it was sent (I got the date confirmed on the phone when I asked for the case number and IV number, don't remember if you can see the exact date it was sent in CEAC) until it arrived in Stockholm. Stockholm then sent the checklist (packet 3) to the petitioner the day after.

The checklist will tell you do do a whole lot of things, two of them are submitting the DS-160 and making a account on ustraveldocs.gov. Pro-tip: Do not make an account there early under Norway, because the checklist will tell you do it under Sweden and you'll have to call ustraveldocs support to get it all straightened out.

You can then pay the application fee on that site and shortly after you can select between free dates for your visa interview.

Mine came to the embassy the day after it left NVC so yours should be there soon too :) It then took me 5 days to receive the email but that's because it was in the middle of Easter. Expect yours sooner :)

Joining this thread since we got our NOA2 approval on our I-129F petition on September 16 (L)

I'm from Denmark but - obviously - will have to attend the Visa Interview in Sweden :) Just wondering if we/I REALLY have to track down the case number @ NVC? Does it really speed up the process for us Scandinavians?

- From what I understand others track down their # due to their U.S. Embassies not working all that fast which might slow down their case however the U.S. Embassy in Sweden seems to be on top of things and sending off the notice email (packet 3) rather quickly?

Please help me out on this since neither my fiancé or I really feel like calling the NVC an infinite number of times lol (if it makes no difference timeline wise)

Our Visa Journey (L) (See our Immigration timeline for a very detailed K-1 and AOS process)

08/17/2015 - I-129F petition/packet sent off
12/17/2015 - Visa Interview in Sweden. We're APPROVED!!!
01/14/2016 - P.O.E. @ Newark International Airport
03/21/2016 - Got married @ town hall
03/22/2016 - AOS, EAD, AP packet sent off
08/03/2016 - Became a Conditional Permanent Resident
05/07/2018 - ROC packet sent off

06/12/2019 - ROC approved (no RFE, no transfer, no interview)

There's not reason at all to call. Only reason we find out ours was because we had involved a congressman at an earlier stage and they informed us what the case number was. But we didn't call and there's no reason to call. I think calling NVC became an obsession when the Texas service center was clogged and people wanted to do whatever the could speed up the process. Only benefit it has is that if you know what clinic in Denmark has been approved by the embassy you can go ahead and schedule an appointment with them if you have the case number. Just keep in mind that your medical dictates when your visa expires, it will expire 6 months after you've done your medical. For example I had mine in April so I had to be in the US before October.

If she knows what clinic has been approved by the embassy yes, she can do that. Just keep in mind some clinics won't let you schedule an appointment until you have your case number. Some do, some don't.

Just FYI, I called up the medical examiner in Gothenburg for an appointment, without them asking for my case number, and then when I got there for the medical, I had forgotten it. The Doc just shrugged and said that the embassy will know anyway.

That's more for us on the spousal visa because we have to deal A LOT with NVC before moving on to the embassy and then we need the case number every time we contact NVC.
