Is it really that much to do the medical exam in Norway? I'm assuming it is covered, or are the embassy approved physicians all private? I paid 125 dollars (620-1000 kroner, 1000 right now because of the ridiculously weak krone) for mine in the US. You'd think it would be the other way around price wise.

What visa are you adjusting from. You mentioned you did a medical prior to a visa interview (I'm assuming since you mentioned embassy approved physicians) so I'm assuming you did one before coming to the US and now you're doing one again... If you've already had one prior to getting a visa, why are you doing one again? Did it expire? Just asking to make sure you're not re-doing a medical because of the AOS if you already did one prior to the embassy stage and USCIS already has it...

Adjusting from VWP, and I did not do any medicals or anything else prior to this, since it was a spontaneous decision to start the whole process in the US. I did not include the I-693 in the first package I sent in and waited for the NoA asking for one, and I am bringing it to the interview in a couple of weeks!

03-16-2015: Entered the US under VWP

06-05-2015: Concurrent filing I-130 and I-485

06-11-2015: Notification of receipt

06-19-2015: NoA Biometrics appointment notice

07-06-2015: Biometrics appointment

08-11-2015: NoA Interview date + I-693 needed

08-28-2015: Full medical for I-693
09-14-2015: Interview (Approved - IR-6!!)

09-21-2015: Welcome Letter received

09-22-2015: Permanent Resident Card in hand!

Hi! I'm new to this discussion and have two questions I'd like answered :)

After sending an email with a question to the Swedish embassy (ustraveldocs) I received an email today stating "Your case has been updated, please log back into your account to view the details". I do have an account on the ustravel/cgifederal (which I guess is where I'm supposed to log back in to) but when I log on I can't seem to find the details about my visa.. I only see Visa information, fee payment, family details, appointment confirmation and delivery address.. I was told in my packet 3 that I had to bring both an Italian and Danish police certificate when I only need to bring the Danish - I'd like to know if they updated my case so that I only have to bring my Danish police certificate or if they did something else.

p.s. I also scheduled my interview appointment today and I saw that at the bottom of the confirmation they say I have to bring a "personbevis - 120-personbevis med alla relationer" is it something only for Swedes or also for a Dane like me? :star:

I hope someone can help!

It sounds to me like a CEAC update but I'm certainly not sure. The US embassy in Sweden usually replies super fast though, so I hope you get a response soon. The e-mail to use is stkivinfo@state.gov. Today (Monday) is labor day so I think they might have had the day off today.

Hi everyone :)

The NVC received all our documents on September 8th and when hubby called they said that by October 10th they would have an update whether we need to send any additional information or if it's a case complete. I am so extremely nervous since it will seriously delay everything if we get an RFE... But trying to stay positive. IF we get a case complete, does anyone know approximately how long you have to wait for an interview at the Stockholm embassy? I am praying that I'll be able to spend Christmas with my love in our new house...

Considering that you have everything set and ready I unfortunately don't think you'll be able to spend Christmas with him. I'm not sure if the scheduling plan looks different for other nationalities but for me, a Dane, I received my packet 3 on September 2nd and the closest date for me was November 5th. I have a feeling they only do one interview a day since apparently everyone on here has had an interview at 8:30am and mine will be at the same time as well! (What I'm trying to say is that if it's actually only an interview a day, the appointment dates get booked faster)

They do not do only one a day, they do at least 2-3 possibly even 5 a day. K1's are Monday - Thursday at 8:30. I believe different visa's have slightly different time slots.

I don't know if it's the same for all visa types but at least for K1 the average wait time for an interview is 3 days. So Daniel might still have a chance depending on when NVC is done with their part. Unless of course procedures are different from the rest and he doesn't even get to pick his own interview date.

I don't think I'm following, what do you mean with "considering that you have everything set and ready"..? ☺️

I hope Maria is right that they do more than one interview a day, haha. I'm doing the CR1 thingy, already married. Don't know if that's any different from K1 interviews or tourist visa interviews..

It would really suck to have to wait several months for an interview :( hubby's birthday is December 20th, our anniversary is December 26th and of course Christmas on the 25th. (And New Years..)

CR1-IR1 gets assigned a date. I was approved on June 4th, and got the interview scheduled on July 14th, so 5-6 weeks. I just didn't go to it since I wasn't ready, but I'd say you still have a chance Daniel. You just have to wait and see I'm afraid, but I wish you luck. :)

CR/IR-1 get assigned their interview date but you can call the embassy after you have your date and see if they have any cancellations. Two Swedes on here had their interviews recently and both got it within a month, once the state department started scheduling interviews ago. Count about a month from cc at NVC plus another two weeks to get your passport back and a couple of weeks for he measure. So if you get cc on mid-October, you should hopefully be able to move over by mid-December. That's our hope too. If the supervisor handling our case ever get to moving... :(

I realize now that what I said probably didn't fit in with your current situation as I am a K1 and you're doing the CR1.. My bad. And I meant one interview a day as in one K1 visa a day and so on.. Not one out of all the Visa's (I'm not sure you'll understand but as I said, don't take it into consideration as I was mistaken) good luck though!

When I had my interview last week (CR1) there were one K1, two CR/IR1 and one who had been petitioned by his father. Everyone with an 8:30 appointment. The reason I know is because you can hear everything people say when they have their interviews!

The rest of the room was full of non-immigrant visas (not K1) but the process for them was very different.
