Hi guys!!

Quick question about TB vs. Scandinavians... I'm 28 years old and had my TB vaccine in 1999, and I have the scar on my arm to prove it, and records of it of course. I am doing my medical next week probably and was wondering if any Scandinavians (since all kids got the BCG shot at school in most of Europe) needed a booster vaccine or anything similar? I heard some people say it needs to be refilled every 10 years?

TB as in tuberculosis? You don't need a vaccination for that, they just do a chest x-ray to see you don't have the disease and that's it. If you're talking about tetanus and diphtheria, then you need the full vaccination program plus a booster within the last ten years.

Yeah in an ideal world we would have moved this xmas break but driving down through Alaska and Canada in an rv with 4 kids and a dog in the middle of winter could be a little too much of an adventure lol

We decided to make a proper road trip out of this so end of may when our oldest is out of school is when its happening!

We are looking at moving to New Braunfels! We have family all over Texas so we have spent a lot of time down there and that seems like a nice size town not too far from anything! We go to San Antonio all the time so its perfect! But I am still keeping an eye on Corpus Christie...if I were to find my dream house there that is a possibility cause its just beautiful!

Road tripping across the US sounds awesome. :)

My husband and I have been looking a bit at New Braunfels as well. It's actually one of the top places to live in Texas. :)

Don't think TB vaccine is a requirement, just a plus I guess. They do chest x-ray to see if you have it or not. Not heard of a booster either. No one told me about it at least. Got mine 2004.

Hello Everyone,

Any Norwegians out there that know exactly how much medical examination will cost? including x-ray and blood work. I know that the cost of the vaccinations vary. any information will be very helpful.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks,

Hi,

As copied from the pdf on the travel.state.gov page:

Fees for Applicants Residing in Norway

You are liable for any and all examination fees. The physical examination is approximately 3000 NOK for adults and 1000 NOK for children under 15. The fees may be paid in cash or by credit card. There are separate fees for the chest X-ray and the serological tests which are paid directly to the laboratories that perform the tests. These prices may be higher for non-residents of Norway. There are also additional fees for vaccinations if you are required to have them; these vary depending on the particular vaccination(s) required.

All is in this PDF: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Medical/OSL%20-%20Oslo.pdf

Hope this helps :)
